Well escapist what is on the shelves/desk/floor of your house/room/dorm/apartment/flea bitten rug you sleep on outside McDonalds for the free Wi-Fi.

For me on my desk, a few MLP, Zelda and Star Fox papercrafts, a few loose papers and my laptop on charge. My shelves are stocked with a jar containing my loose change, a few pictures and my trophies from various sports.

Lots and lots and lots of Japanese stuff.

Movies, games, comics, study books, all sorts of stuff. The occasional figure or plushie. Sometimes boxes for hardware and jewelry, too.

There's other stuff, but it's mostly Japanese/Asian.

My desk: a Rolling Stones ashtray (I like them, but I like quite a few other bands more. Still, it was the only cool one they had at my local smoke shop), Nat Sherman Black and Gold cigarettes, wheat things, a PS3, a 360, a Wii, my Macbook Pro, a potpourri of prescription drugs, and a signed picture of New Jersey Devils hero Scott Stevens (it's ice hockey, for those of you who don't know).

On my game shelf, in no particular order: Crysis 2, Driver: San Francisco, Mass Effect 2, Fallout 3, Fallout: New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption, Borderlands, LA Noire, NHL 10, Prototype, Infamous 2, Little Big Planet, God of War III, Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, Metal Gear Solid 4, Killzone 2, Far Cry 2, Ninja Gaiden 2, Portal 2, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Legend of Zelda: Windwaker, Soul Calibur 2.

Also on my game shelf I have my DVD "watch again pile," which currently constitutes: The Lives of Others, Pan's Labyrinth, V for Vendetta, Oldboy, The Dead Zone (the good David Cronenberg one), Talk to Her, Lost in Translation, The Life Aquatic, and Brick.

Yay, that was fun!

Textbooks, a street directory, iPod cables, cheap Sennheiser headphones, a stack of books (a Bill Bryson that was a gift, Philip K. Dick, Mogworld), a row of recently purchased CDs (The Fall, Stockhausen, Salt-n-Pepa, et al.), Metalocalypse DVDs, rock bios, Alexandre Dumas novel, dictionary, external HDD box, camera, and birthday cards. Oh, and empty cider bottles.

Oh shit, how could I forget my trusty bottle of Johnnie Walker Black?

(yes, I'm high end like that. Nat Sherman Black and Gold cigarettes and Johnnie Walker Black. Living it up in Down Down Depression Land)

Books, so many books. But there's also some fishing flies, an Eagle statue, and a tiki statue. Throw in the Tonganese fishing club and I have quite a little collection going...

I have lots and lots of shelves, most of which are filled with books I've never read. On the shelf right above my head though are these two Evangelion figures I got at New York Comic-Con a couple weeks ago:

Notebook, laptop, broken mug waiting for crazy glue, kindle, PC, and a glass of water.

Using the kindle for reading papers has significantly reduced desktop and shelftop clutter. And the absolutely wonderful 5'x3' whiteboard I installed about a month ago has prevented accumulation of the usual array of notebook pages I typically need to work things out.

On my computer desk? Uh...two boxes of texters (don't ask me), a coaster, a little clock/USB hub, the remnants of the packaging for a new calaculator I picked up the other day to replace my old and broken one, a little model of the colliseum (actually picked that sucker up in Italy a few months ago)...that's about it.

If you're wondering about the shelves and desks in my room. I'unno. Books, a few tin-toys, some of my coca-cola bottle collection.
