Now in this thread i dont mean a character or place or monster you didnt like i mean a game you played where the game was good and even the characters were good but you found that a character, monster or place didnt belong.

Like for example your playing your game and you done most of the story , you have most of the character unlocked, or you know the characters what ever and you know more or less what going to happen for the rest of the game. But there si just that character/place/monster(boss) tat just dosent belong where the story would do fine with out it.

Like Zell and Seipher in FF8 or that mascot thing in FF7 or every character in FF10, things like that

I initially had this impression with the Mirelurks in Fallout 3. They seemed more suited to a fantasy setting (like, well, The Elder Scrolls). I've since warmed up to them though, probably after reading in the Fallout 3 art book that they're mutated Maryland blue crabs.

Although along the same lines, Radscorpions are kind of out of place in Fallout 3. The first two games took place on the west coast, where there are actually scorpions. As far as I know there are no scorpions indigenous to the DC area to be thusly mutated.

Seipher in FF8
What? Seifer was Squall's 'rival' and primary antagonist for most of the game. Sure he got ***** slapped at the end of Disk 3, but he belonged in the story and was an integral part of it.

every character in FF10
Okay, now you're just being silly.

For me it'd be T3-M4 in KotOR1. I only used him to unlock the sith base on Taris and he was stuck on the Ebon Hawk for the rest of the game. Couldn't see any point in using him over another character and he didn't affect the story at all.

He was important in KotOR2, but in KotOR 1 he just seemed a bit pointless to me.

I kinda disagree with the premise. Some characters ARE there even though they don't affect the story, but simply to add a bit of value to the game. In Phoenix Wright, Mike Meekins could easily have been replaced with a generic police officer, but he's far too zany to give up.

One time, I found a mudcrab in a bandit lair. It was dead.
Ever think that the reason why it was there was that the bandits wanted crab for dinner?

Ha ha. Along the same lines, Darth Vader, Yoda and the Apprentice in Soul Calibur IV. No matter how cool they looked and how well it was done, it still made no sense whatsoever in context.

Not that anything makes any damn sense in Soul Calibur either way. How many swords are there again? Who has them? Algol only has replicas, right? So are the Azure Knight and Nightmare the same person, and are they both Siegfried? And if not, why do I think that?

I blame the inclusion of Star Wars characters. I suppose my mind was blown.

Really? I used T3-M4 plenty, his slice/hacking skills were ubur. I mean, I tried to give myself decent ones, but he was ALWAYS better at it.

I always liked Cait Sith too...The character always seemed wierd and unexplained though (I know he was just a robotic puppet being controlled from a distance by that one guy but still..wierd)

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. those weird mutated guys that walk like crabs. Uber creepy while underground in the dark. But I kept running into them outside, and they just don't fit in sunlight.

This. 42 characters, party size: 3. Most games you just take the "chosen ones", this game brings along the entire continent. And that's not even covering the bizarre non-human guys (a TURNIP, seriously?)

Radiata Stories is the only game I've seen that actually beats Chrono Cross's character list

it has 172 characters.

can't get them all in one game, and a couple of them you only get for one fight, but still

damn :p

but at least 90% of the characters in Radiata Stories are normal

I don't feel right using ANY characters in Chrono Cross, cause they're all so weird.

The Terrorists in Rainbow six Vegas (and Rainbow six Vegas 2) during Terrorist hunt.

Iron Ninja: "Oh hey! After a thorough check I can announce that I have cleared this room of all terrorists, I guess I'll just turn around and go back out now"
Terrorist: "Surprise! I didn't exist before, but now that you have your back turned I have the ability to shoot you in the back of the head instantly and kill you. Fun right?"
