Although along the same lines, Radscorpions are kind of out of place in Fallout 3.
The thought occurs that these environments have like 4 or 5 different fauna, so it isn't outrageous that Radscorpions have simply expanded their range in 500 years.

Nah, those actually fit nicely. Humans mutated
....
well that's all kinds of fucked up, but I guess it does make sense.
I still wonder why they picked such shitty guard dogs but then why have any of the schizotech of Fallout?

My guess is that these things have higher stealth detection and ignore darkness as a factor (they smell things)
I meant my regular dog can kill them, and he can detect them before they detect us (he gets growly and pointy).
So aside from a desire to mutate shit, it would seem a worthless move on the Supermutant's part.

Well, just like the previous FO games, Fallout 3 is following the same lines of 1950's reasoning when it came to Science Fiction. For example, if you expose certain creatures to radiation, they'll get bigger (Why you see giant bugs in FO to begin with.) though the Radscorpions we see in DC are nowhere near the size of the monsters you deal with in Fallout 1 and 2 (Those suckers were bigger than cars.)

Weeell, Centaurs are the byproduct of throwing humans and other animals into vats of FEV. They're leftovers, really. They're loyal to their Super Mutant masters, and one would suppose, much easier to deal with and control, not to mention the suckers are immune to radiation.
