What is the appeal (if any) of parties to you?

Well how big is a "group" in this case? I'd see many parties as just being way too crowded and loud to get proper talk on with my friends. I like smaller ones, but then I could just call that "hanging out."
If you've got more than 3 people at someone's place and you're having fun, I call that a party. I enjoy small parties, large parties tend to get a bit cliquey.

That, and you'll tell your friend you think his sister is hot, and you'll run over the neighbor kid. That's basically all I ever got from the anti-drug commercials they showed us in high school.
It'll also make you kiss boys.

I prefer a mellow party for the conversation. I have trouble hearing over the dull roar of people talking about themselves. Iam also a low talker so people get frustrated with me. I like listening to peoples stories the most.

Seeing as I regularly have about 6 people in my house, does that make it non stop party time? [http://nedroid.com/2009/05/party-cat-full-series/]

I am a social drinker, I can only drink if I'm talking to other people. I can drink at home if I'm talking to people online, though.

I enjoy hanging out with people and I enjoy drinking.

Pretty straight forward really.

That guy in the back's face made me laugh. Then it got to the part about them being brothers, and just got awkward. I actually never saw that one though.

I like parties for the birdy-num-nums, the howdy partidner, the crazy painted elephants and the amusing anecdotes... I missed the middle part, but I can tell from the way... that you are enjoying yourselves... it must have been a very humorous anecdote... because the way you are laughing... just shows how much you enjoyed it. I love a good laugh, ... Enjoy yourself. - Thank you. - Enjoy. Thank you for listening to me.

I don't drink and don't really do well socially with a large amount of people around, so there goes most of the appeal of a party to me. And when I do want to talk to people, I like to be able to hear them. I do really like to just chill with a small group of friends though. Then it doesn't matter what or where the specific gather is.

But, I can understand the appeal of them. I've even managed to have a blast at some of the ones I've been too, though that probably wasn't really due to anything related to the actual party, so w/e.

None. I only ever go to relative's b-day parties because if I don't go, they WONT SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT IT.
Sometimes I think I'm too nice.
People do the same to me if I don't show up to those, even if I haven't heard from them in years anyway. I just ignore them entirely at this pint, so they don't get the chance to yell at me about it anymore.

Parties are relaxing and you get a chance to hang out with people you like. I mean I suppose you could do that anywhere but I like the environment better at parties really.

Um...I honestly hate parties. I can't stand large get togethers and groups of people in general.

I prefer one on one conversation.

There is usually food. Honestly, that's about the only thing I look forward to at parties, I'm usually just biding my time until I can leave and go do things I actually enjoy wholeheartedly (agenda-less hanging about isn't really my thing). Some are certainly better than others, but on the whole I can do without parties.

It's ok when it's a group you enjoy, but all it takes is that ONE GUY to screw it all up.
