There is no answer because it's a naruto game. If you're playing a naruto game then there's something wrong because literally anything is better then those poorly made shitfests that are based off of an even worse anime.
This man speaks the truth. I tried one of the DS games, Ninja Council or something. I beat the first mission, just barely because the controls are horrible. Then Naruto's disgusting English voice actor yelled "Believe it!" and I just about smashed my DS against the bed frame in horror.

Never again.

Have you played Ninja Storm it stands on it's own as a good fighting game, Naruto related or not, loses most shitty features from PS2 games, has way better graphics, a linear learning curve but a crazy amount of in-depth into the actual combat.

OP: If you want a big roster choose the latest game in the PS2 series. You want a good Naruto game pick Ninja Storm altough Ninja Storm 2 comes out in October and it goes all the way to Naruto sage mode.

There were some EX skills you could get that allowed others to do the whole mix-match thing too, weren't there? I had a mate that loved playing as Regal, it;s too bad his skills don't get too good until the very end. He's a late bloomer.
I'm going to have to find out for myself. It's been a while since I played, and I usually focused more on Zelos, Colette, and Lloyd. I'm still good for a few more playthroughs, though, and he seems to have some skills that make him even more like a fighting game character (I'll probably have fun with Counter in the future...).

Is Dawn of the New world good? I never got around to buying it and they don't like selling it in England.
It's not one of the more popular Tales games, but I enjoyed it a lot. The story is decent (including one of the better love stories I've read in a game), the combat is fun (it takes a lot of inspiration from Tales of the Abyss), and the new characters are great. Also, full voice acting really does make the C-skits even better.

I can't remember if the PAL version has been released yet...
It is out, but shops don't have it. I might Amazon it after this deluge of games passes. The only issue is, in the time between the American release and the UK release (about 4 months) I managed to read up basically the entire plot including spoilers in fragments on TV Tropes.org.
About the whole Ratatosk thing and whatnot.
That might do it, though I think it's still pretty fun to play (and knowing the story doesn't mean everything, unless you've also watched everything on Youtube or something).

I've also heard it's very short. Is it?
It's a lot shorter than Symphonia was, certainly, not that that's saying much. It's still decent RPG length, especially taking the side battles into consideration.
Well, I guess I shall make haste and get it then.

Now, if only they'd release Abyss in Europe...

If you can get it for a decent price, go ahead. I think it's cheaper these days (I wound up buying it full price for $40...£26 or thereabouts; I think I saw a copy for 17 on Amazon), so if I wound up recommending something you don't like, I'll be slightly less embarrassed.

...I'm just paranoid like that.

Now, if only they'd release Abyss in Europe...
Aw, man, that'd be cool. I'm playing and enjoying it now, I'd like people in the PAL region to share that!

Yeah, I really want that game.

Tales of the Abyss is brilliant, my favourite Tales game. Shame I had to fork out for Swap Magic for my console and then import the game from America to be able to play it, since it wasn't released in Europe. Was worth it, though.

Still need to play Dawn of the New World. Truth be told, as the years have passed I've gone off Symphonia a bit, hence why the 2nd is still on my backlog. Will get to it eventually, I guess.

Actually to be honest, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja was quite an enjoyable little game. I hate the anime, but that game is freaking fun (and quite difficult at times).
So, sorry not all Naruto games suck. The fighting ones do without a doubt, but Naruto:RoAN actually makes a fairly entertaining original games.
It is possible to enjoy bad things. I myself enjoy Record of Lodoss War, which is an objectively bad anime because of it's lazy animation, generic art and cliche plot and characters combined with extremely sub-par voice acting. Just because you like something doesn't make it good beyond a subjective view, just like how just because I dislike something doesn't make it bad. However I will stand that the games themselves are still mediocre and only get the majority of their sales from the name while the developers rarely care for the quality of the game. The gameplay and design lacks completely especially if compared to games of the same genre, even when compared to older games in that same genre.
Have you actually played Rise of a ninja?
I'm not saying it's good because of my opinion, I'm saying it's good because it's alot of fun and I'm yet to meet anyone who has played it and not enjoyed at least the gameplay, if not the story.

I may not really care for Naruto, but I must say that they come out with some pretty fun games. I've always liked the Ultimate Ninja series, especially Ultimate Ninja Storm; for me, that is the quintessential Naruto fighting game, as opposed to the Clash of Ninja series which has always struck me more as simply fighting games with Naruto characters (there's a difference). GAARA SHOULD NOT PUNCH!

First of all, it's dissapointing to see the Naruto hate without any contribution to the thread. Don't like it? Doesn't need your unrelated hate? Don't comment.

Right, I personally very much liked Broken Bond on the 360, very good game. Also Ulitmate Ninja Storm for the PS3 was fun to play once I got used to the controls (it was on a friends console, and was the first time I hade been on the PS3).

This man speaks the truth. I tried one of the DS games, Ninja Council or something. I beat the first mission, just barely because the controls are horrible. Then Naruto's disgusting English voice actor yelled "Believe it!" and I just about smashed my DS against the bed frame in horror.

Never again.
Ninja Council 3 would have been great if it would have had a Free Battle mode.
And he dosent say 'Believe it" as often as you might think in a lot of the newer games.

Naruto:path of the Ninja 2 was a great JRPG on the DS as well.
Lost of characters, tons of extras to do after the main game, and some interesting Skill Machanics.

And like i said in my earlier posts the Clash of Ninja and CoNRev series are really good.
Especially CoNRev 2 & 3.
Then there is Naruto:Rise of a Ninja and Broken Bond.
I personally didn't like the fighting styles though, but they were still fun to play(Only played Broken Bond myself, but all of the people iv talked to have said the its no different from the first one)

So Believe It(See what i did thar) or not, there are some good Naruto games.
And the Uncut Anime is pretty Decent, i prefer the Manga though.

Agreed Gaara should not punch, he should have one move, and that move would be "Make Sand" and once he makes Sand he wins.

I really want to play the Ultimate ninja and Ninja Storm games to see how different they are than the Clash of Ninja series, which i will admit is not very complex or deep.
But it is a lot of fun.
Neji FTW.
