Jurassic Park by the late, great Michael Crichton. Runners up go to Prey by Crichton and The Mist by Stephen King.

erm im going with the bourne supremacy because it was awesome. plot, charaters, action all great.
second to that would be rainbow 6, without remorse, world war Z, and i actually really enjoyed a sound of thunder but im not sure that counts because its like 4 pages long...

Priestess of the White by Trudi Canavan is my favourite book, read it a total of 5 maybe 6 times lol. The rest of the age of the five series is also very good :D.

I'd also like to honourably mention the painted man by Preter V. Brett, the start wasnt amazing because he was setting the scene for the characters but later on it gets to be very epic.

I, Legend was a fantastic read. Read, not watch.
Agreed! Hated how the movie took out the whole "legend" part of it. I assume you mean I Am Legend... I don't know what I, Legend might be.

The alternative ending made the film version MUCH better though.

Watchers by Dean Koontz. It was the first real largish novel I read and it opened up an entire genre of horror and thriller books to me.

Oops. Yes. I Am Legend was what I meant to write. A glance to my left (where the book is currently mocking me with the title) confirmed just that.

FFFFffff... :)

Currently I am reading A game of thrones and I think it is really good.

The Everworld series was pretty good when I was a teenager but reading through them again they have lost a bit of there luster.

The War or the Ancients is a pretty sweet Trilogy If your into World of Warcraft. Same with the book about Arthas. Though I am pissed they had him break his paladin oath of celibacy. You know. Kinda like how Anakin broke his Jedi oath of celibacy and had a pregnancy scare. Only Arthas had no babies.

Yeah, I was one of the people joking about Arthas pointing at Uther and screaming "IF ONLY YOU LET ME HAVE SEX!" From his frozen throne.

I really liked Cadian Blood by Aaron Dembski-Bowden...
Well... That's 40k.
40k Books can be awesome, too. :)

Best book of 40k (in my opinion): Graham McNeill - Storm of Iron
or: Dan Abnett - Armor of Conptempt

Armour of Contempt? That's the worst book in the series (not a bad book per se, just not a lot happens). Agreed on Storm of Iron though.

Probably the Eisenhorn omnibus, or most of Gaunt's Ghosts.

I cant pick one, mainly because I believe that I haven't read it yet :p
From what I've read probably Tolkien's "Hobbit" and most of Umberto Eco's books.

I'm sticking to the Elephant and the Ballon written by Bernard Black and Manny. It just gets to me on so many levels.

It's a toss-up between The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and I Know This Much Is True by Wally Lamb.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightime.

You're actually going to make me choose? Well, I'll start with the 2 I've quoted (I'd forgotten about 'The Curious Incident'! I feel a little bad about that), and then add Neil Gaiman's collected works, most if not all of Frank Miller's comics, Ender's Game, 1984, Animal Farm, Fight Club, Haunted, Twilight, Stephen King's stuff, Silence of the Lambs, No Country for Old Men, Let the Right One in, Of Mice and Men, East of Eden, The Dresden Files...

The list goes on, and on. And then maybe on some more. I really like reading, so I have far too many books to choose from.
