I was amazed by the cutscenes of FF X

Also, I loved the real actors one in the first Jedi Knight game

The opening cutscene for ff7, it was epic and i think it still is, second is dragon quest 7's opening it looked really good even tho the only human in it was a kid's hand at the end.

This may not count, but the start of Bioshock, when i submerged from the water, i thought it was still a cinematic because the game looked so good. It taken me a few seconds for me to click on and that it was actully me who had control of the camera.

That happened to me to. That was absolutely seamless.

As for great cinematics in games... the space battle at the end of Mass Effect was fantastic. Also, the trailer for Star Wars the Old Republic was so awesome I felt a little dead inside when I realised it was going to be an MMO, and therefore the trailer was not at all representative of the actual game.

The opening cutscene to Final Fantasy VIII has my vote. That was just fantastic. I also like the one a little later in the game when they're storming the beaches of Dollet.


I also gotta say that I love the Awakening to Your Persona cutscenes from Persona 3 and 4. They're both just great scenes that have you on the edge of your seat. Though, I gotta say I like 3's better.

Saints Row 2, My favorites were, "so a gang leader walks into a bar," the one after the first fight with Maero, and the one where you kill Mr. Sunshine.

The Left 4 Dead intro absolutely blew me away.

Devil May Cry 4. The opening cinematic is just awesome. Dante shoots the Pope-equivalent in the face!

I'd say the intro to Dawn of War. Like a little, actually well done, film.

It was what I imagined the battles were like when I played 40k.


I quite liked the intro to Soul Reaver 1. It was mindblowing for it's time.

Outlaws had some great cartoon style cutscenes. The name credits on the intro are genius

More recently I'd have to say maybe Mass Effect. It just had some badass showdown moments.

COMPLETE GLOBAL SATURATON! (Resident Evil 5) is one of my favourites (even though its a QTE cutscene), but the intro to RE 5 is also nice.
Prototype had an amazing intro (at least I thought so)... oh and the F.E.A.R. 2 Ending cinematic (those who played it will know what I mean)

Mass Effect, the cut scenes with the human fleet saving the Citadel (and for me the Council as well) are pretty damn epic. Though despite that paragon choice I found the renegade ending speech by the Council to be more inspiring than the paragon speech.

I agree Mass Effect was like playing a damn movie which rocked my socks.

Metal Gear Solid4 had some amazing ones...but it also had WAY too many and too long, it reminded me of Xenosaga II.

Heavy Rain for PS3 looks amazing for that.

The End Cinematic for Silent Hill 2 was pretty awesome.

I liked the added in cinematics for Chrono trigger because its how i would have pictured it goin down DBZ style lol.
