This is a little different from most of your posts, but I've always seen Limbo (according to the Catholic Church, not Inception) as a HUGE cop out because when they were coming up with the church tradition of the afterlife, they said sinners go to hell, good people go to heaven. Then they added purgatory, which is a temporary holding place for kinda-bad people (the average Joe) to be punished for a while, but ultimately they all go to heaven too. Then, in a separate declaration, they said life starts at conception. So those unborn babies that are clearly alive and then die before having a chance to be good or bad, they go...um...crap. So they make up a totally random place called Limbo and shove them there. Totally unsatisfying.

inb4 nerd raging atheists.
I don't celebrate Christ's birth, I celebrate my family being in a room and trying to think of each other.
And that should never be because of a dusty old book and it isn't.

Also, thank you for saying it as I couldn't remember how to spell the damn word.

Would that still apply to those of us who don't believe in God, yet celebrate Hanukkah? :D

anyone who takes a scientific argument against a religion and only picks on one point which isn't at 100%.

scientist: well we think the earth is about 45billion years old
guy: well where is your evidence?
scientist: we used carbon dating and this and that, etc... to prove this
guy: well i have heard from my mate bob that carbon dating isnt 100% accurate
scientist: well how old do you think it is?
guy: about 6000years
scientist: where is your evidence?
guy: i don't need evidence! there is more to life than evidence... i do have a book that says it !!!!

I've heard this one so many times across the internet it's a wonder it's not used as a plot line on a soap opera more often. =|
What?! Don't they realize that phobia means scared.

The conclusion of Doomsday Arcade was a pretty big offender on this one.
how did it end?
They don't reveal something that had been shrouded in mystery since the third episode, and they even a very long, extremely meta explanation about how they did it just so people wouldn't be pissed off or let down, despite pretty much ensuring that everyone felt that way. The final battle also wasn't very good compared to the action fests that had led up to it.

You do realize that if you buy a $60 game only a small percentage of that will go to the game developer. And that it is in fact the publishers who make off with the greater majority of the profits to cover for the (on average) 18-28 million dollar advance they gave the developer so they could develop the game in the first place (very few developers can afford development costs out of their own pocket). Retailers, manufacturers and distributors also want their share of the profits. And last in line is the developer, who can get whatever is left of the profits after everyone else got their part. Providing the game was actually profitable, which only about 20% of games do.
Do kindly note how the only companies QQing about piracy are the ones who make shit and/or 'meh' games. You'll never see Valve or Bethesda crying about it. Their games are pirated quite heavily, but they don't care, because they sell so well they're in the black.

And are you aware that the people working at game developers aren't exactly living it up? That they work long, hard hours for significantly lower wages than they could get in other sectors, all while their publisher is laying on the pressure for the game to be ready for a holiday release?
They're paid before the games hit the shelves.

There are some exceptions to this rule, like Blizzard or Valve (who can pretty much do whatever they want), but they are just that: exceptions. This is the reality for the greater majority of game developers. And while the effects of piracy may be overstated, I don't think it is unreasonable for game developers to complain about it, since they are the party most likely to be affected by it.
It would be reasonable for them to mention it if it actually hurt them. Like the team behind Audiosurf, for example. Ubisoft? I have no sympathy. They can blame shit games not selling on piracy all the want. I don't care, I can see it for what it is. It's just QQing, they're simply using piracy as a scapegoat so the shareholders don't figure out their games aren't as good as they should be. They can QQ me a river, build a bridge and get over it. Either that, or make some good games and not stiff people with DRM.
What the hell does QQ mean?

I wouldn't really call that a cop-out, that's more of a stupid phrase then a cop-out.
