What is the biggest game advertising fail you have ever come across?

She played Julie, Stephen Stills' sort-of girlfriend. The one who hates Scott and sucks up to Envy? That's her.

OT: Gonna have to agree with some earlier posters and say EA dropped the ball big time on the advertising of Dead Space 2 and Dante's Inferno. It's like they wanted to reinforce the negative gamer stereotype parts of society hold.

How about the F.A.G.S. advert for Modern Warfare 2?
F.A.G.S. stood for Fight Against Grenade Spam and the whole ad was around a Major league baseball player doing one of those hokey commericals on how something is not cool and at the end he gets stuck with like 50 Semtex grenades. The commercial itself was funny but the F.A.G.S. part wasn't.

Then when Battlefield Bad Company 2 came out, they ran a similar commercial called F.R.A.G.S. and they made sure they didn't make the same mistake.

Now, if Sony had released that ad in South Africa, THAT would have been a masterpiece.

I was about to just say "please see the 80s" but I forgot about that one.

There was also that God of War publicity stunt with the soup in the goat carcass. That didn't go well.
Once again, it always seems like Sony is trying to kill the Playstation brand.

Smart move EA, using an advert that will appeal to children (the only people who would instinctively buy stuff that their mother wouldn't want them to), who just so happen to be under the age limit to buy your game. Oh, and thanks for the "It's violent, it's revolting. It's everything you love in a game" bit. It's not like we're trying to get rid of the angry, violence addicted gamer stereotype, EA. Thanks a big huggy bunch.

I don't think most mothers would care.

Also, yeah, what is this guy talking about? Have you ever even PLAYED Call of Duty?
The first three were fine, the fourth was the spark that lit the series, World at War was awful, MW2 was great, Black Ops was not good, and I quite like MW3.
