I don't see any reason that having a higher Gamerscore would help me in any way... why do people like achievements so much, if they offer no rewards?

Yep. It's like measuring penis size, except it's even more pointless.
"Look how big mine is!"
"Well mine is bigger!"
"Well you both need to go outside, so shut the fuck up."
That sums it up pretty perfectly.

Pretty much. It's kind of how like some people will post just to see their count and rank go up. It's all about the ePenis size.
On another note, I used to think you could redeem your gamerscore for something. But that was way back in 2005. I've been hearing mumblings that PS3 trophies will actually do something (other than just raise levels).

I do not know why people bost about things like this, GS is not an accurate measuer of skill because someone could play for ten years to gain a GS of 100,000 (on easy games alone) While some one else could spend 1 year playing and get a GS of 99,999. The same goes for trophys and achivements.

I don't realy care about it. Sometimes I get a few because it seems like fun working for them. Other times when I do something completly awesome and my xbox says 'Well done, here! Have a medal!' I get warm fuzzies. But I don't compete for it.

I do after I beat the game. I go through and look for anything before I move onto the next game. Extends my game's life spans greatly (by greatly I mean over a week)

Yeah I made a thread asking the same question not so long ago. I was hoping that you could maybe win microsoft points or something but no dice. Purely for bragging rights, though none of my friends would actually brag over their gamerscore.

Gamerscore is the high score system of today. In the old days you'd get your satisfaction out of beating...whatever game at the arcade with a shitload of points and typing ASS as your initials, nowadays you'll show your epeen with your gamerscore and achievements.

My E-Penis has 51506 points. I have to wrap it around my E-Leg and tuck it into my E-Sock.
I can do absolutely nothing with it, other than increase it bit by bit.

Hehe ahhh the memories! I think this is the word pretty much everyone put in. Some screwed it up and you got AAA or AAS. Personally on beating Time Crisis 2 in the arcade without getting shot I tended to put in GOD, though only if people weren't watching. Too many awkward questions.

I got 100% in Uncharted in a week (getting 100% ingame is 100% trophies aswell)and i never touched it again.....on the other hand i played Dead Space for 4 months collectin trophies(it took me like 3 months to beat the game i would play it hardcore 1 time then anohter id be on for 10 mins hoping around the next corner was a damn save point
Exactly, I usually murder games pretty quickly. Hence I have to multitask and play around 5 different games at once to make them last. I usually don't move on until I have at least half the achievements/trophies for them.

It's basically a measure of how rich you are (if you have lots of uncompleted games) or how skilful you are (if you have a small collection of games completed w/ hard achievements).

Mine is 8459... haven't got that many games so = )
