You don't have to have bought the game it can be any gaming disappointment.
My biggest gaming disappointment as of recent was Dark Void I had high hopes for that game.

Not had any real dissapointments lately. Most recent is probably Bioshock, although that was largely due to the quality of my computer.

Dark Void for me too, it looked great what with the flying around but then I played it and it was "meh". Eventually took it back and got Red Faction Guerilla instead which was very fun.

Bioshock 2 really let me down. I loved the first, mainly for the story, and the second just felt half-assed. Does anyone else feel the same way?

Most recently bought... that would be Far Cry 2, a while ago. Nothing like the original.
I was also recently disappointed by -equips flame proof gear- Oblivion which I borrowed off a friend. I guess my heart just wasn't in it.

Bioshock 2 was a HUGE disappointment to me. And Mass Effect 2 was a smaller disappointment, but the thing with Mass Effect 2 was that it was satisfying. Unlike Bioshock 2

Sometimes a demo is a bad thing. Currently I am of the opinion that I do NOT want to play AVP based on the demo.

If you insist that it be a game that I purchased though..... Folklore. I still think that it could have been a good game, but it became very dull and very competitive about half way through the story and that's before DLC and hidden treasures and quests.

The totally broken spawn system didn't help the multiplayer...agh with IW's pedigree I expected a much better game. Why do I have to go back to WAW to play a COD w/out having the guy I just killed spawn behind me and shank me.

Wild Arms 4 , yeah I haven't bought that many new games in a while. The battle system was ok but it just lost that Wild Arms feel.It didn't help that the characters were annoying as hell.

yeah i mean the first one was fun to play and it was impossible to get the brass balls trophy and on bioshock 2 i got through it hard without the use of a vita chambr and it just feels rushed tbh

Brutal Legend. Psychonauts was so goddamn good in all aspects (visuals, sound, writing, gameplay) but Brutal Legend really failed on the gameplay and somewhat on the writing. And yes the soundtrack was f***ing metal, but it was so slapped on (via the car's radio) instead implemented more into the game's events. I feel there was a lot more they could have done with it if they would have focused a little less on the heavy metal aspect and more on making the game as enjoyable and cohesive as possible.

Mercs2 i totally agree with you. EA's pressure on Pandemic ruined the game. I loved the first one soooo much!

I LOVED Brooetal Legend's universe.. I loved the characters, the writing was spoton... but, it just wasn't that great of a GAME. So yeah, I'm probably going to have to say Brutal Legend, although I had fun playing it, it was a bit of a bait and switch with the genre, but I had a blast playing it for the atmosphere alone, but once that dried up there was nothing left.

It wasn't BAD by any means, but when you compare it to Tim Schafer's other works (especially Psychonauts) it just doesn't add up to the same level.
