The end of the sniper mission on CoD4... Took me ages to do it on Hardened, have yet to complete it on veteran.
I thought this would be the deffinitive hard level of gaming history, its hard even with grenade rain turned off! (not veteran that is), even the most arrogant gamer I know was silenced by that spot.
I wonder if MW2 will have a sucessor for the title.

P.S. I have beaten it on veteran though, a few months after I got up to it.
Oh god I hope they have something in store to at least match it, if not better it. One of my favourite levels in any game, despite its suddenly escalating difficulty.

In Crash Twinsanity theres a part were you have to jump on multicolored pad things and they fade in and out. For some reason i just couldn't do it :(
OH MY GOD I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT!!! That part was rediculously more difficult, it was THE hardest of the whole damn game, back when I was 10 it took me 2 and a half hours to beat and it only had like 5 minutes of content! That was ASS!

The Curse Of Monkey Island. All of it. I can get off the boat, and then get to the crazy woman in the swamp who tells me my solid gold girlfriend has probably been stolen and that's it. After that, I am completely stuck. I was stuck when I was 7 and I'm still stuck 9 years later!! Ridiculous...

Super Star Wars on SNES.
The ending X wing flight in the Death Star.

Arbitrary difficult.

If that is the same thing that's on the Nes, I know what you mean.
I got my way out of Tatooine, though, just to find myself in the Millenium Falcon dodging flying rocks in the asteroid belt.

Arbitrary difficult, again.

Half Life 2: Episode 1, fighting that helecopter in the attic which is slowly falling apart.

However, I have now realised why I found that fight so difficult - I apparently made it through the entirety of Half Life 2 and its episodes without realising that I could control missiles by continuing to aim my laser sights after I had fired the missile - I literally went through the games thinking that missiles had a sort of random chance to hit.

Final level in Banjo Tooie. I can't remember what it was called but I could never 100% clear it because I could never beat Canary Mary's race challenge thing.

So I had a perfect gamefile, spoiled by one niggling little annoyance.

In CoD 4 on veteran no fighting in the war room was just rediculous because of the time limit if u didnt get to the next area within an amount oftime u dont get a checkpoint...

also the heart of the reich level (i think it was called) of CoD WaW was so hard and annoying on veteran i hated the flak cannons

it's not really a level but in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, the bit where you have to find the keys stumped me. i think there were 9 of them and i managed to find 8 just by random searching. the 9th one i have not found. the clue you get given (fortress of dry land????) made no sense and i refuse to use a walk through.

In CoD 4, the Mile High on Veteran took me ages to do. Literally 100 restarts, but I finally did it.

Also for some strange reason, the helicopter missions in Saints Row 2 was agonizingly difficult.

nah there was another one for gameboy, I remember playing it when I was really young. As far as I can remember, it wasn't actually very good and made up for it with frustrating difficulty, something seemingly popular with games of the time.

I was like that as well, I had no idea you could steer missiles. I was trapped in the Half-Life 2 lighthouse for hours. I have no idea how I killed that gunship without steering my missiles, but by golly, I did.

Prototype. Bloodtox factory. On Hard. Piss off.
