There's a level in Dawn of War: Winter Assault that makes me angry every time I think about it. I don't like the Imperial Guard, but I can suck it up and play them. But I hate the Eldar with a passion. I'm terrible with the Eldar. And wouldn't you know it, Mission 3 of the Order Campaign forces you to switch between the Eldar and the Imperial Guard, teleporting your base several times while racing against the clock which counts down to a massive assault by an Ork army.

I hate that mission because I never have enough money or time to build up a decent army. I gave it 3 attempts, failing each time...I then checked for cheats, only to discover that they no longer work after the latest patch, so I then promptly uninstalled the Winter Assault expansion.

I've encountered lots of stupidly difficult levels and bosses over the years. The ones that I actually wanted to work through never gave me that much trouble aside from the Water Temple (10 fucking hours of frustration). I know that some people tend to shy away or push it off, but seriously...World of Warcraft...Sunwell Plateau. Six bosses that might as well just be brick walls with death lasers.
Wooo hooo Muru! The true death god of WoW.
Oh and I love that effing undead dragon... Surprisingly I found them harder than Kil'Jaeden by the end of it. So much fustration.

The fixed gun set piece in Wanted: Weapons of Fate right near the beginning. No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't get past it. I would have enjoyed that game a lot more if I could have gotten past that point.

The last couple levels of the first Halo, with all the Flood. Don't know what it is, I just can't bring myself to get past them. And it's not the creep factor, 'cause I can kill headcrabs, just not Flood for whatever reason.

The end of the sniper mission on CoD4... Took me ages to do it on Hardened, have yet to complete it on veteran.
Same for me...untill I found the 'spot', where no enemys will find you, just your claymores. Then c4 to clear the landing zone, finished it on veteran before I did it on hardened.
What spot? I need to know of this spot!

I found that extremely easy I just hid prone behind a tree throwing back grenades.

Both of mine are in flight simulator games;
the one that stymied me for years was a rather mundane level in X-wing Alliance where you had to first
1) find a disabled Imperial probe droid
2) defeat the mercenary starfighters who were also trying to get it,
3) get it and fly to a space station
4) stop to be scanned by the station and then pirates in Y-wings appear and start firing missiles at everything they can see, and if a missile hits you it destroys the probe droid you're towing.
oh, and you're doing it in a YT-2000 cargo freighter that handles like a drunk cow.
I finally finished that mission by just ignoring the space station's orders and booking it towards the next hyperspace beacon before the pirates jumped in, hoping to be out of range before they arrive, and if they lock on with a missile, get in a gun turret and spam lasers behind you and hope that you destroy it before it hits.

the current mission that I'm stumped with (and don't think will complete it anytime soon since it since my rig's hardware overloads it) is on the original PC version of Crimson Skies where you have to disable 3 Zeppelins over Manhatten. Doesn't sound too hard does it?
Well Zeppelins are machinegun-spouting giant flying death-dealing machines (even the cargo ones that you have to destroy here) and you better be in a bomber to even HOPE to get close enough to shoot the engines off of them. And when you're in a BOMBER, you can't HIT ANYTHING.

To this day, that game remains unfinished.

The Cortana level in Halo 3. I died so many times before I eventually made it through...

I'd definitely say that's the worst Halo level ever made.
Agreed. Finished it on Legendary with several skulls on (including Iron) to get the Meta-Score achievement. And I doubt I will EVER play it again.
