Lets see, judging from the past responses, we got a lot of 42's despite what I said in the first post, Religion which I can respect as an agnostic, we forge our own path in the universe, and no point but to live and breed. Interesting responses

Its meaningless and in say 6 Billion years the earth and all traces of it will be erradicated completely from the universe. The milky way will also be destroyed by a collision with the andromena galaxy.

Maybe an advanced species similar to us, created life on Earth... to find out what the meaning of life is... because they themselves didn't know...

I mean it's possible we're an experiment gone wrong or some kind of entertainment. I know these theories aren't exactly scientific or even spiritual, but think about it. We study various different life forms by studying them, the way they live. From studying lesser life forms, we can work out what makes us different and unique. Maybe we're just another races' social experiment?
What if we were an experiment gone right? I'm just saying, why do you have to be so negative?

Kidding aside, I doubt what your saying would happen because, the more advance a species gets, the less meaningful life becomes.
Okay so maybe we were the intended result of an experiment haha! But if you think about it, we'll never know... do lab rats know why they're going through mazes to get to the cheese? I doubt it, they just want the cheese, it's not in their nature to question why they're doing something. Although here I'm assuming that there aren't philosophical rats out there...

The universe cannot truly exist without conscious beings being aware of it. Otherwise the universe would be darkness. And the universe exists for said beings to have something to be aware of. Otherwise there too would only be darkness.

The dream and the dreamer. One doesn't exist without the other. As to what you do with that life is something deep and personal that only you know.

I've always been a somewhat of a pesimist but there is no point thinking that humans will survive until the end of time. The only reason to life is to celebrate our tiny little blip of time in the sun. The best time to be alive is now. If the entirety of time was a callender then Humans have only been alive for a few seconds before 31st December.

1.) The historical reality of Jesus rising from the dead.
Some day you are going to have to accept that there is scarcely any solid evidence to prove Jesus's existance let alone any actual historical evidence documenting his supposed ressurection. I believe that you believe it is true, but that doesn't quite cut it in the real world... In any case, the fact that a man returned from the dead does not prove the existance of god or provide any understanding to gods plan for the rest of mankind.

2.) Jesus' clear understanding of human nature and reality.
There have been many such individuals to have achieved such awareness and clarity of thought. The Buddha being the most obvious, but this is also a world where such people as Leonardo Da Vinci, Socrates and Isaac Newton have lived. Any Jesus I've ever heard about couldn't claim to have provided as much insight into the meaning of life as those three...

3.) The Bible continues to prove itself as the inerrant world of God by means of prophesy and history.
Considering within in it's first few pages the bible claims the Earth was created around 6,000 years ago. Any primary school child with a basic understanding of science and geology can verify that this estimate is off by some many hundreds of millions of years. This is not something a rational person can choose to believe. It is 100%, verifiable, objective truth... As for the bible claiming to be the actual truth of life, the universe and everything? No it really really isn't... Period.

I think this is appropriate:

I think that the meaning of life is to make yourself be remembered by people, hopefully in a good way

42. Yes THAT one. There will be more of these.

Perhaps the meaning of life is pondering what it is. I say that life is development, it's perfection. If we reach the impossible and everything is invented and already made. We have nothing to work towards to. So, might as well kick the bucket, we are done...
Hmmm I see, that makes a lot of sense

Yes, the meaning of life is to live.
I mean, if you died, there wouldn't be a point to life, would there?

Once again, my flawless logic kicks ass.

I think it's up to each person to decide what their goal in life is. Some people wan't to do nothing more than to raise a nice family. Others wan't to amass a great fortune and live luxuriously. And a few want to change the world, even fewer will suceed though. Our ambitions are one of the things that define who we are. The harder they are to achieve the more people will respect and admire you if you actually reach them. But the higher aims you have, the more likely you are to not achieve them. And that can be hard to live with. Life is a gamble, play it safe and you are likely to be a small winner. Play it risky and there is a chance, even if it is unlikely, to win big.
