PLAY HARDER, DAMN YOU!
I CAN'T play any harder! I'm already still hungover from last night and trying to play (the american version) of football while clutching my arm which I broke in the bar fight!!! (Joking)

On topic: to paraphrase the Wiccan Rede "Do what you want, just don't harm anyone". BTW, I'm not Wiccan, I just like to know about different religions, cultures, etc. It prevents me from sounding like an idiot by relying on "what everybody knows" which is commonly stereotypes and inaccuracies. For example, Wiccans (and other Earth-based religions for that matter, do NOT worship the devil.)

Reading that makes me feel weird. I am pretty sure the universe implodes once someone reaches 100%. Or is humanity actually the player o_O
Huh, I never thought whether humanity was the player. Maybe there is a bigger game inside the game like our lives are mini games for god to play while humanity is the actual game. You need to get 100% in the mini games so you can get 100% in the actual game. Wow, this is getting bigger and bigger. Wait, if humanity was the player then we would essentially have no meaning, well as much meaning as the S.P.E.C.I.A.L has in Fallout, but humanity would be able to complete the game at 100% without some of us.

I like the thought that we have our own games. I'd rather be an indispensable player character than a statistic that can be changed or unused with little or no effect.

Fuck Bitches, Get Money.

Emily Dickinson said that. Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was her.

Works, but only on a personal level, to set a universal rule with that mindset would be troublesome. Seems a bit depressing too to say that you've achomplished your goal(or doing so) without trying.
Also, does dieing mean you've failed the point, or that it was never something that could be completed?
You're thinking of it backwards.
The meaning of life is the universal rule.
You can have personal goals and stuff, but if you don't live, you can't live out your goals.

And on the death thing, well... it depends on how you look at it, or when you die.
If you've lived a rich live, and is ready to die, death is victory, while as if you're unhappy with your life at the point of death, you loose.
With focus on the last of that, it seems you'd say that the goal is to make the most of life, which is something we can all agree with I guess.

On a purely primal basis, it'd be to keep the human species alive by having kids and whatnot.

Can't speak for any other context though.
I was about to say that, and on a non-related note, where did you find that avatar?

the point of life is to not look for the point to life, but rather lto live in teh present for the future that matters to you.

OP: Ugh... This question again.
IS their even a meaning to life? Does their have to be a meaning to everything? Perhaps life is without meaning, or maybe perhaps life is about the personal belief of the individual. What may be the meaning of life to one, may not be the meaning of life for the other. Or perhaps, life is meaningless, it's just a time of consciousness. Perhaps there was ALWAYS a time of consciousness.

this. eat, shit, fuck, die. that is the basic meaning of life. now that life has evolved beyond necessities, though, fun and enjoyment are probably in there too.

All inanimate things in this universe are by their own nature meaningless. Everything that exists is simply a group of atoms interacting with each other, and has no purpose. For instance, the words in a book are simply countless particles arranged in a pattern. Life is what gives all things meaning. Only through the mind and existence of a living creature does the universe gain a purpose. Only by our reading of the words in a book do they gain a message.

That's what I think it is, anyway. I've found that all other explanations rely too much on the perceived superiority of humans, and falter a tad bit when looked at through the lenses of science or logic.

Biologically: To Reproduce

"Realistically," for lack of a better word: To Be Successful (Have a career, get married, have kids, die happy)

Philosophically: To Live

I can never be arsed to come up with a deep and meaningful answer. So when this questioned is asked I find it easier to just say "42" (damn, those books/that film are/is awesome) and then carry on trying to figure out the REAL meaning of life sos I can say it the next time I get asked, but by that time I've forgot so I just say "42" again and so the cycle continues.

I would argue that there is no point, and therefor we should enjoy and make the most of it while it lasts and try to leave a world in which our descendants may do the same
