I've got too many to list but maybe you guys can help me. There is an instrumental piece played in this crummy little flash game:

"ht tp://ww w.online-games-zone.com/pages/pnc/hidden-object/carolina-sandoval-in-rio.php" (Press pause so the game doesnt end on you)

I cannot seem to find it anywhere, since there are no words I cant look it up and programs like Shazam cant find it either? Does anyone know where its from? I always get this strange sensation, like i heard it once as a child and it just takes me away...

So has anyone teared up because of really beautiful music?
Oh yes, plenty of times. I don't have a singular piece of the most beautiful music i've ever heard because that is just way too difficult for me, but I have a few.

Radiohead: Videotape

And so many other Radiohead songs too. The anime Clannad's soundtrack always gets me emotional too.

But seriously... there is way too many to list.

I love the Band of Brothers theme, by the (now deceased) master Michael Kamen...beautiful male choir.

Also, Beethovens Moonlight Sonata...hauntingly beautiful <3

This is amazing. I don't play Assassin's Creed but now I kinda want to.

Allow me to add this to the collection

glad you enjoyed it..I highly recomend assasins creed, though its best ot start from the first one (but yeah "beautiful" prefectly descrbes that track)

anyway that makes me want to play uncharted (like going off for an epic blockbuster adventure)...I will eventually, I have the first one sitting on my shelf

About Sound of Silence, have you heard their live version at the Rock 'N Roll Hall of Fame concert I prefer it over their studio version.

OT: Tough one, either Queen with The Show Must Go On
Or the first time I heard Schism by Tool when I was stoned

One of my earliest child memories about music is Hijo de la Luna by Mecano:
Such a beautiful yet sad song.

I'm not sure if the name of this song is Faces of Russia - Why I love it! or not but nonetheless it can lift the spirits of anyone in this world

Edit: the song is the russian national anthem (rock edition)

For gaming music you can't go wrong with "Baba Yetu" from Civ IV

<youtube=IJiHDmyhE1A>

as for other music I'd have to say that The Eagles' "Journey of the Sorcerer" is just a beautiful piece of music.

What song or songs of music do you consider to be the most beautiful music you've ever heard? I'm not a big music guy, but I'm curious to know what else I haven't heard and what other people consider to be really touching music. Not necessarily your favorite music, but the kind that brings out the most emotion in you.

Two of my favorites are Billy Joel's Piano Man and Simon and Garfunkel's Sound of Silence.
Aaron Copland - Down a Country Lane. Short, simple, beautiful.

Several immediately come to mind:

<youtube=SNKmgSvTewQ>

That choir is so... poignant. Brings a tear to my eye every time. Of course, context means a lot (won't post any spoilers though).

<youtube=iDM2372EuUg>

The piano, the lyrics, then the final release at the end when the guitar kicks in... I love this song. Say what you will about Chris Martin, he really can convey emotion.

<youtube=BxbJmMMq0A4>

Same goes for Matt Bellamy. "This life's too good to last... and I'm too young to care". I know this song is heavy handed, but like every other Muse song, they make it work.

Coming after "Time" (which is also very beautiful), this song seems especially meaningful. God damn, that girl can sing.
