"Charming" isn't a term you tend to see these days when reading reviews of mainstream, big budget games. With all the gritty FPSs and angsty RPGs today, charm no longer seems to be considered a selling point (with the exception of a two major titles:Little Big Planet and Spore).

What games give you that warm, fuzzy feeling?

The first two Paper Mario games. The great humour that the series has keeps me coming back.

Mother 2/3.

Something about the simplistic art design just always puts a smile on my face.

Easily Machinarium [http://machinarium.net/demo/] - it's a point-n-click adventure where you play as a little robot trying to find his girlfriend. I can hear you all going "AWWWWWWWWW" already...

The LEGO games. So wacky and cute.
Yeah. I think they're very "gay" games. Gay in its original meaning. I don't think any other single word better describes them.

Point and click adventure games like The Neverhood and FullPipe are pretty charming. Though the most recent game I've taken to is Flotilla. It is an indy space strategy game, similar in some respects to the HomeWorld series. Lots of colourful characters, spartan visuals and classical piano seals the deal.

Twinsen's Odyssey.

One of the first games I remember playing, and still one of the best I have ever played in my life. It's just... wonderful.

Little King's Story
I was gonna post a video but couldn't find one that does it justice.
The music, the gorgeous environment, the quirky (sometimes ridiculous) enemies.
Everything about it screams charm, I guarantee if it was a better known game I wouldn't be the only one saying this.

Zelda Ocarina of time, the skull kid in the lost woods playing the flute and the entire Kokiri village is about as charming as it gets.

I don't remember the last "charming" game I played. Everything is so "super serious" these days that is on my computer with games like Fallout 3, Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age: Origins, and the Total War games. The most "cutsey" game I have is probably FFX, which... isnt very charming at all.

Agreed. Earthbound was so modern, but also so amazingly good at RPGifying the modern setting that it came off as witty, charming and plain awesome.
Truer words have never been spoken.

Also: 'RPGifying' is going on my list of words to incorporate into daily use. Cheers! :)
