Psychonauts!
best game ever
very charming, funny, and original
While I no doubt agree that Psychonauts is very charming, and I can go on with its beautiful artwork, set pieces, voice actors, etc....

But Psychonauts is an easy and boring platformer. I don't understand why folks praise it so much.
because it WAS fun
I can't say i wasn't entertained throughout the entire game
and it was frustratingly difficult in the meat circus

...and Tim Shafer made it

Ocarina of Time. Sure it gets all gloomy and dark later, what with the whole world being taken over by gloomy dark guys thing, but so many charming moments with the youth version of the world.

Oh a lot of charming games other there. There was one that made me warm and cuddly inside and that was Loco Roco. Seriously, that adorable little blob rolling around singing this intensely adorable japanese song.

Like swimming in the softest of pillows.

... ehem, anyway yes. I also find the Harvest Moon titles and Pikmin incredibly charming as well.

This may sound stupid but here goes. I LOVE IGGY'S WRECKIN' BALLS FOR THE N64. I have rented that game from Blockbuster enough times to pay for it twice over and was always fascinated by how quirky it was.

Braid, one of my favs as well.
This. Although the story got darker and darker as you progressed.

Also Fable II. I loved it when my child would run up to me and ramble on about what's been happening. Not so much the wife though.

Still the Halo games.
Sure, they are huge big budgeted games that everyone is aware of but I do get a happy and warm feeling when I play them that's just lost on any other game.

Close second though is Bioshock for its aesthetic and atmosphere.

Also Mass Effect for its characters.

Yes, Sims is always fun.

OT: Any Mario game or Any Zelda game.

In fact, lets just go ahead and say any Nintendo game.

All Nintendo does is "charming".

Harvest Moon oozes cute and charm from every surface it has. The newer ones can be pretty challenging though, which keeps it from getting boring

World of Goo! Thanks Humble Indie Bundle!

Also contenders: Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, Animal Crossing, and Peggle Extreme.

Trine.
Because the charakters are so loveable, and the artwork is so pretty.
It is only a small, kind of indie installment that has its issues, but I totally fell in love.

Still have to get all the XP, though :)
