...I don't think that word means what you think it means

Anyway, based on my interpretation of the OP, I would say that the most obscure game I have ever played is one of the ones that came with the humble indie bundle, but when I get a new laptop, I'm going to attack the "indie" section of the steam store

Machinarium. Little puzzle-solving robots.

And possibly the only cutesy ame that I can tolerate without becoming terribly cynical. Probably because there is no dialogue.

Most obscure? Hrm... Prolly the game a guy on the chipmusic IRC made while we were talking about what a one-dimensional game would be like. You pressed right to win. Sadly, I lost the first time I played...

I don't know if how obscure it is but the Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue game for the N64 is probably the most obscure one I've played. I thought it would be complete crap (mostly because I was well past my Power Ranger phase and because it was my brother's game and he didn't have good taste in games back then) but I stayed up all night playing it. Kinda mindless but fun. So yeah.

Obscure? I'm all about those.

Outfoxies on Arcade
Super Gussun Oyoyo 2 on SNES
Battle Clashe on SNES
Terranigma on SNES
Sin and Punishment on N64
Umihara Kawase on SNES,PSX, PsP (demo)
Patchwork Heroes

I dunno, I could go on and on. Pretty much most of my game collection is obscure titles, then there are more than a couple games I've been drawn to by hardcore gaming 101:

Eversion. A lovely little platformer with absolutely nothing weird or wrong about it. Nope, nothing. There are absolutely no lovecraftian horrors and the game is wonderful and cheery throughout. Definitly. Yesh...
Yeah. Thanks. Just Finished the game. Yay... Now i don't get to sleep. Creeped right the shit out....

I've been trying to get through Eversion, but it is just ridiculously hard. Is it just me? I hear lots of good things though.

Mondo Agency and Gravity Bone came to mind.

Look, I'm tired of blurting on about these games. Will you just go and download them already? Jeez.

A couple:

Toy Story Racer for the PS1. It was hella fun, but I don't know how many people have heard of it.

And

X-men Legends for the PS2. This one was a little more high profile, yet I don't think that many people have played it.

Probably Rebelstar Tactical Command. It's the only GBA strategy RPG that's interested me a good majority of the game (even if the characters were very colorful cardboard cutouts).

I'd have to say Flower, simply because its completely unique.

Heck, I might not even count that as a video game, more interactive art.

Noby Noby Boy (if you can call that a game). You can cut yourself in two and eat your own arse for crying out loud! Yesterday I entered a level filled with gnomes and rabbits. All they wanted to do is dance on my back. I ate a frog and a man and the man came out with a frog as a head.

Noby Noby Boy is seriously the most insane game ever.
