What is the most overused Game mechanic?

Absorbing weapons, ammunition and health packs through your feet.

It comes as a breath of fresh air when my character actually stoops down to pick up an object, with their hands.

Regeneration abilities like in CoD 4/5. Whats next, the ability to shoot throw fireballs and use powerword kill?

And this is getting really old too.....

Crates have stuff. They never have a lot of stuff, but they have stuff that probably doesn't belong in them. I mean really, Streets of rage put entire hams (or whatever those were) in them for health regen. As if I'd walk up to a crate after being beaten by gangsters hoping to find some mysterious meat in questionable storage conditions because nothing stops bleeding better than a slab of roast beef?

Anywho I think Ratchet and Clank (while I HONESTLY never did like their games) has gone a bit more brown in the last game? Sillyness aside (discoball and massive canons and whatnot, oh and you play as a rodent or something.)
