The Gits
Black Lab
Those are Indie, not Underrated. If they suddenly became popular, they wouldn't be Indie, their fans would accuse them of selling out, and they'd be forced to change their sound to something more radio friendly until a TV exec uses one of their old songs for the theme to a popular show, allowing them to return to their indie roots, make money, get their old fans back, and be forgotten by mainstream media.

Lou Reed and or Randy Newman.
neither of them are underrated, i mean randy newman sold millions of records and has won an oscar
lou reed is largely considered to be one of the greatest musicians of all time, not to mention how highly regarded the velvets are
Ahhh, but most people only know about "Little Criminals" and his pixar music. Alot of people ignore "Rednecks" or "Sail Away".

Lou Reed is regarded highly as a member of Velvet Underground, but most of my generation doesn't listen to his solo stuff at all.
well, everyone i know likes take a walk on the wild side and perfect day, mainly, though, most of my generation don't like any old music (i'm 17) so the fact that most 17 year olds don't know it doesn't mean it's underrated, just that most 17 year olds are pretty musically ignorant.

i agree with you on randy newman, though. although personally i think political science is his best song

My band called Search Button.
With our debut EP, I'd Hit That, featuring songs such as Why (Didn't You Search?) and Repetition Hurts.

You'd all love it, guaranteed.
(Seriously, Ben Folds Five. Just look them up.)
Mm. Ben Folds Five are pretty okay.

Current 93. Weird occult folk-ish type music.

zeroes and ones are the sex though. and their drummer is the hottest shit going!

Have a Nice Life. Really catchy alt stuff.

Agalloch. Puts pretentious melodeath like opeth to shame.

Brand New, burial, the dear hunter, cynic, Pelican, we made god.

I listen to a lot of really talented artists who don't get enough attention.

Well I doubt anyone would have heard of it.

Out of all of the bands I listen to though, probably Deftones.
I'll second this.

New Found Glory. They've been going for so many years and still not got the recognition they so sorely deserve!

I used to love New Found Glory, Dressed to Kill is one of those songs that I can never stop listening to. I did think they made some poorer stuff recently though, need to give it all a proper listen.

i have to say the most underrated band ever is WASP
there class but just never made it very far >_<
I'm going to see them...

With Alestorm supporting. Fuck yes.

But I'll say Streetlight Manifesto, and the ska genre as a whole.

Haha I'm absolutely in love with them. Went to see them for the 4th time a couple of weeks ago and they were amazing. Their new stuff is different for sure, but it's still pretty damn good.

Hmmm, might have to stick them into Spotify tonight and see what comes up.

Also, I wanna add Bowling for Soup to the mix; people think they write a lot of childish stuff, but they've made some really good music. Plus very fun live.

Not a lot of people I meet have heard of Ra (Progressive Metal) or Thousand Foot Krutch (Christian Rock (but don't write them off because of it)). I'm not a huge fan of either but I like a few songs.

Any Mike Patton band, they're not very popular because they're strange and different.

Mr. Bungle
Tomahawk
Peeping Tom
Faith No More

Spineshank

Black Stone Cherry

and

Monster Magnet

Maybe there are people saying that Monster Magnet isn't really underrated. But until I hear their songs on a radio near my place, I label them 'underrated'. (it's all relative really...)

I also like quite a few songs from 'The Pillows', but I'm completely oblivious on wether they are underrated or not...
