I've been playing games for a while and I'm looking for something new.. something interesting. I really like playing games that really differ from the generic ones. So I ask you: what is the most unique game you've played and why?

Mine would have to be Portal due to it being a puzzle game played through an FPS format.. Whats yours?

Im about to play through The Path. The Endless Forest is now one of my favorites(mmo where youre a human faced deer who cant talk and you explore an endless forest with other human deer). Bionic Commando Rearmed is really good. Urban Dead is pretty unique, a text based zombie mmorpg. Mirrors edges is one of my favorites. I think theyre should be more games like it, i love platformers.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again:
Big Rigs, Over the Road Racing. That game has no equal.
Where you can stick to walls and drive through houses?

Mount and Blade was definitely unique. Although you have to use mods to experience it fully.

Just Cause 2 is also unique in that it is the best definition of a sandbox game I've ever played.

Yep, I'd say that's pretty unique.

You forgot being able to reverse at the speed of light.

ive wasted alot of quarters on that game.... somehow it didn't seem that lame in the arcade.

ot: id have to say either shadow of the colossus, in terms of atmosphere. and gameplay wise of the top of my head id say, fight night round 3, the use of the analog stick seemed pretty novel at the time. tockstars table tennis, portal and Fahrenheit.

thats all i can recollect

edit: oh and superman 64 for being uniquely awful

Killer 7 to me was pretty special. God dam Capcom for owning the rights to it. I wanted a Killer 7, 2!

Okami.

And I have it on the Wii, too.

It's arguably as unique as any Team Ico (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus) game.

Portal, hands down. It's not only really unique as far as gameplay goes, the humor is what really makes the game a really fun and new experience. It's one of the few games I can honestly say that I wish would last forever, alongside Dragon Age: Origins and Final Fantasy Tactics.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
HaHaHa that was a good one ... oh wait... you're serious.
lol... that was quite insane. :)

Descent was in a class of its own back in the day. I think maybe one other game tried to emulate it (with minimal success). It still holds a special place in my heart. It's not unique in the same was as Portal but it's still up there.
