I really don't like to spend more than $20 to $30, and I try to go for less. I don't think I've spent more than $30 in years, minus the below exceptions. It helps that I have a laptop and that I only got a PS3 about a year ago and a PSP more recently. PSP games are all like $10 and it's awesome. I also go nuts on Gog.com sales. Too nuts.

The only exception is that I paid $60 for Starcraft II on release date as a reward for myself because it was coming out right after I'd be done taking the Bar Exam. So in the midst of studying I went on amazon and pre-ordered it to lift my spirits. I may buy Diablo III at release if my brothers do. Otherwise I wait until the price comes way down.

I've never bought a collector's edition, and I doubt I ever will. I don't want to spend the money, and I have too much stuff as it is. The collector's edition gear would just get shoved in a drawer and probably thrown away in 5-10 years after taking up space that whole time.

So I guess the answer was $60.

Normally I'm one to wait for specials and price drops on games as I'm one with a lower end PC (that's due to be replaced), but I do have a rather frequent tendency to import games for the PSP, Dreamcast & PS2.

The PSP is pretty obvious as Monster Hunter Portable 3 hasn't shown up on this side of the Pacific as of yet (plus the Macross Frontier titles are just fun as hell), but the ol' Dreamy & PS2 are proving to be quite the expense as I'm paying around $100 a game to feed my shoot 'em up addiction.

Thankfully I don't feel I have the disponsable income to start buying arcade boards just yet, as the ones I've been eyeing start at around 400 bucks or so.

For a standard edition game, I usually refuse to pay more than $45 these days. I rarely preorder games and pay full price for it unless there were some great preorder bonuses, like Amazon's constant $10-$20 credit bonuses or free dlc. For example, I just ordered Deus Ex: HR off Amazon for $40, which I thought was a good price for a month old game.

Typically, I find most collector's/special editions to be way overpriced, where most of them cost $100+ and contain nothing worthwhile to me besides art books and music cds. The most I ever spent on such was $70 for the 007 Classic edition for Goldeneye Wii, where my extra $20 went toward a gold-painted classic controller pro, which was the same price as a standard white or black classic controller anyway. I also plan to put down $70 again for LoZ: SS, for $20 for a gold Wiimote Plus sounds awesome.

$130AU. I'd never by one of those $200 editions as a stupid figurine and a metal box isn't worth an extra $70 on top of what you're already paying for the limited edition. I did think about getting the Gears 3 Epic Edition and the Halo Reach Legendary Edition, but I'm glad I didn't actually fork out the money.

$60 on the Infamous 2 Hero Edition. I really don't know how, as it costs $100. I think it was some deal for around one day or something. I will be getting the collector's edition of ME3, so that may be it.

I've spent about $110 (USD) on both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. If your one of those people that thinks Pokemon is just the same game over and over again. Then I've spent a LOT on that one. If I like it, I'll spend a crap ton on it, I know I will, I use to play trading card games...
