For me my personal favorite is from a friend of mine.

"I don't like gaming character and world designs...I would rather play text based games so I can imagine in my mind, my characters, and the worlds and interactions how I would see them."

So what is your moment. It can be a quote, picture, or even just a thought on what you think is the nerdiest, geekiest thing you can think of. Anything is welcome. I am trying to get some ideas for something I want to write. Thanks all.

I'm not really sure if this is what you are looking for, but, I remember going to eat at chile's with some friends, and I listened in wonder for forty+ minute as they discussed The Dark Night, The Joker, Heath Ledger's performance, how said role and its psychological impact might have lead to depression/suicide, etc.

I dunno...I used to think I was really nerdy, and then I went to college and was in a gaming club for 4 years. A decent amount of people in it were all right, but some were way way way too nerdy for anyone's good. And after going to another college's mini-convention this past weekend, I'd have to raise the bar a little bit.

So to answer the OP, I've lost track of all the incredibly nerdy things said in my vicinity.

"So do you prefer phalanx or testudo formation?"
"I DON'T FUCKING CARE. Get away from my desk, you'll make it dirty."

Well, okay... that last bit I said wasn't true. But I did throw a rage at him, probably because he annoyed the hell out of me every day for a week about ancient battle tactics.

In the late hours of the morning, when much alcohol has been consumed my friends and I will occasionally drift into the realms of what we have termed "Hard Geekery" which is where our Academic Training and our Geeky Interests converge into some sort of unholy fusion.

You can imagine how bad that gets when you get a bunch of Comic Book/Roleplaying/Anime/Videogame/Movie and Spec Lit geeks really drunk and talking Philosophy, History, Art Theory, Sociology, Psychology and random spatterings of economics and astrophysics all in regards to Final Fantasy VII.

Yeah, that's true geekery.

Um, I have a few everyday happenings that are nerdy:

-Playing boardgames like Risk at the bar, then later moving it too Dennys after the bar closes
-Getting team shirts whenever we go into tournaments, usually with inside jokes on them
-Many game marathons, like a whole weekend on the couch, only leaving for the bathroom or food
-My friends have a Christmas tree that we decorate with games discs and pop cans

I'm also planning on going to an anime convention and dress up as Kefka from ff6, then prank all the ff7 fanboys

When I saw "Attack of the Clones" opening night, the theater had brought in a bunch of people dressed in authentic gear to roam the main entrance area. They had Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers, Clone Troopers, Imperial Officers plus a couple others that I can't remember. These poor bastards had to deal with not only the incessant requests for photos, but also the ungodly summer heat. I decided that I'd try to lighten up their evening and mine by taking a different route than all the others. All night long the Vader actor had to act like he was using force choke on people. Boba Fett to multiple pictures with people in headlocks and such. I figured it'd be funnier if I had them pose do ordinary things. Boba Fett talking on a payphone. Darth Vader playing air hockey. A clone trooper ordering pizza. My crowning achievement, however was convincing the stormtrooper to follow me into hte bathroom and act like he was taking a leak with the Imperial officer standing behind him shaking his head. We all got a laugh, and the pictures turned out in epic fashion.

A year ago, some guys I know were playing SSBB.

Then one guy got pissed off because another guy was edge guarding him and things broke out into a fight.

I'm sure that guy looks back at that moment every now and then and thinks about how much of an ass he was. Or not I don't know.

(FYI edge guarding, in SSBB, is preventing your foe from recovering onto the stage)

My brother and I were arguing and decided to, erm, decide things with a match of Star Wars: Jedi Knight Academy(as that was the game in the console st the time). My friend came in and asked why we kept shooting glares at each other, so I explained the situation to him. He started chuckling, so I asked him what was so funny, to which he answered; "You guys are deciding things with Star Wars."

Well, it seemed nerdy at the time!

I tossed a beer to my friend and he missed it. To save face, he sheepishly said, "I guess I failed my Dex check." He was barred from playing any tabletop for a month.

This girl that pissed me off loved Harry Potter, so I ruined the ending for her and she cried for quite a long time.

I know I sound cruel saying that, but she did piss me off so bad and I knew I could get back at her geekibility.

Everyday at my lunch table there about four to five kids always talking about LARPing. They just don't shut up.
So there's lots I can name, but I'm not gonna start ranting.

one of my mates once said 'science is the entertainment of the intellectuals'
his girlfriend did actually break up with him a week and cited that as a reason.

Any chance you could post some of them? They sound awesome.

Nerdiest thing Ive done? The most recent was talking about programming stuff with my friend, im using java and hes using C#. Other than that, we always have nerdy conversations. Usually when we get drunk, we end up ranting about how casuals are ruining gaming, what wed combine from several games to make one awesome game, stuff like that.
