i used to have a collection of unique 50p coins. ones that had pictures of not a specific year look, but one which had a picture of a fountain on it representing some library somewhere... and another from the isle of man with a motor-vehicle racing thing on.
i say used to, my brother was low on money and needed bus-fares for him and some friends. he paid me back but THAT WASN'T THE POINT OF ME OWNING THEM YOU BLOODY TOSSER! i've been given some since but i don't even bother trying to collect them anymore.
I also have this green and white stone that weighs about a kilogram and a half. my dad gave it to me when i went through a gem/rock collecting phase in my very dull childhood. He claimed it was worth over £2000 because of all the crystals that were inside it if i were to crack it open (he never told me how he got it,because he certainly wouldn't have bought me it). however, it sits on my desk, un-cracked and probably going to remain that way. i don't want it to prove the excitement of having something like that in my childhood wrong. oddly, this rock collection phase means that even nowadays, i am still able to identify gemstones, much to the amazement of girls wearing jewlery. so being a bit of a boring 10-year old meant that i've got a nice aspect for older life
