For me, I still play my NES at times and play CastleVania. It is only about 30 mins to an hour long, but the game is still fun, probably out of nostalga. How about you all, is there any old games you go back and play?

oh yes and try not to go after the 2000's era. go before that time

Most memorable are 'Fallout 2' (97) on my windows XP virtual machine and 'Dungeon Keeper'(97) that SURPRISINGLY works on Windows 7.

EDIT: It saddens me to see how Peter deteriorated from 'Dungeon Keeper' to that lousy demo he showed at E3. Where's the dark humor?
It's gone.
requiescat in pace.

Lego Island! 15 years old and still awesome.

Seriously this is probably the earliest passable version of a open world game.

If you grew up in the 90s and haven't heard of it your parents hated you.

Edit: I actually still play pong and pac man on my phone, but I still like my example of a modern 3d game, because otherwise everyone has a kickass 2d game they still play every so often.

Every once in a while I play Metroid and Super Metroid (downloaded on Wii (yes, I do have a Wii. Rarely use it for anything else than those 2 games though). I'm born 1993, so one is older than me and the other is almost as old as me... xD

I play one my favorite games from each system every few months. 3-D Missile Defense, Gangster Town, Marble Madness, Super Mario Kart, and Streets of Rage are the ones I play most often. Occasionally I'll go for Resident Evil 2 or Parasite Eve, but they don't have the same nostalgia value.

Knights of the Old Republic

Yea I don't play old games much anymore, mostly because I don't own any old councils. Also that's KOTOR for PC which came out in 2004. Actually I have yet to play it, I just bought it because it was $2.49 on a Steam sale.

I make it a point to play through the X-wing trilogy at least once a year. Damn, Lucasarts needs to get on remakes/sequels of the best space combat games ever.

ES4 Oblivion. I know. I just think old games are outclassed in every way by their modern counterparts.

X-com ufo defense is oldest game I play based on year of when it was released... and fact I have played it during this year. Though got that game this year so wouldn't count. I'm gonna say Warcraft 3 as I always drift back to try and play it each year... but online community has sadly devolved into bots hosting more then active players. Though warcraft 3 is oldest game I have that I play at least a few times a year.

I still play NES games on a semi-regular basis. I may actually own some DOS games that pre-date the NES, but I haven't played them in forever; anyone know when the Gold Box D&D games were made?

Street Fighter. I've been playing it since it first came to home consoles. It's kinda' like chess, except the graphics don't suck.

For most of us who actually lived through it and couldn't wait to get "here" retro is going entirely the wrong way. I used to love the hell out of Pitfall and while that scene in Ultimate Alliance was cute, and that's a great game, I was glad when I got back to the regular play.

Super Mario World.

I play the GBA version these days, though, so if that doesn't count: The original Grandia!
