Hi, I'm doing some research on feminism, femininity, females today, etc, and i'm hoping to get some opinions from people:

What, in your opinion, is "the perfect female" and/or, "the perfect female role model"?

One who buys her own damn diamonds.

Serious Answer: No such thing. Perfect things are boring.

Mattie Ross from True Grit.

She's a great role model for young girls, I think.

Strong an independent, but without being stupidly so. If she weren't fourteen, and if she had more experience, she'd probably go after Tom Chaney alone.

Hmmmmm I can't really say for sure. I prefer my females to be human rather than stereotyped. The only exception for me is that she plays video games. SMASH BROS TWO PLAYER!!!! ;)

"Perfect" is entirely subject to opinion, you'd get different answers from everyone.

However, you'd get traits that people would use to describe a perfect woman that would be similar, but it's the combination of these traits that people would use such as "Outgoing" or "Funny" that would determine a "Perfect Woman".

Natalie Portman is the perfect woman. Certainly.

edit: Crap. Can't embed, but click the YouTube link or this one [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KpMPFGBtE7Q], for the actual video.
And OP, if your looking for proper responses: make proper effort on the original post.

I dont think their is such a thing as a perfect woman. Each and every one of us are perfect and inperfect in are diffrent ways to diffrent people. I think my girlfreind is the perfect woman for me, though others think she is vain, uncareing, crazy, and a all round *****.

As for a good female role modle, I would say cheryl cole, Nicola roberts, Amy williams and margret thatcher.

Silent. Kidding don't hurt me. I would say independent and tenacious, someone that knows what they want and goes out and gets it. I can't think of any examples though, but they are out there for sure, I'm just having a brain fart.

Umm... this is a magazine for gamers, so your either in the wrong place or your in the perfect place.

So that you know, there is no such thing as "the perfect female" or even "the perfect female role model". whatever posts you may see on this site are purely opinion and should be viewed as such.

I can tell you what is not "the perfect female" in a list

Lara Croft
Any Blondes in games (with the exception of Samus)
Samus (because she's a crappy bounty hunter, doesn't even do it for money)
Bioware women (because they are either submissive, a**holes, or old as S*it)
WoW women (because of the dancing NE)
most other women in video games

In my opinion however the closest to perfect would be

Sarah Kerrigan from Starcraft

She's badass, intelligent, a leader, and is relevent to the plot without being a sister, girlfriend, or wife.

If this all looks like video game characters, it is, thanks for asking on the Escapist.

the kind of girl who you can have an itellectually stimulating conversation with over various topics right after several hours of ammazing sex.

and if she tastes like bacon on one day and icecream the next, that would be a bonus

EDIT: I forgot to mention that whenever she moves, chocolate that doesn't make you fat should magically fall from her hair.

Perfection is in the eye of the beholder. We all have a sense of ideal or preference therefore there is no such one perfection for all women to fit into.

There's no perfect anything, and the idea of role models assigned by sex is just foolish and sexist. What's to stop a little girl from her hero being, say, a male baseball star?

No one epitomizes being a woman for every other female. Just look at the greek/roman pantheon: Athena, Aphrodite, Hera, Demeter, blah blah blah. All superpowered arcetypes of womanhood, but all fulfilling very different roles.

Sorry to do this, but I believe perfection is nothing more than an unattainable myth that hinders greatness. That isn't a cop-out, and it applies directly to what you've asked.

If this is a study relating to "feminism," then we should tell both Ann Coulter and Gloria Steinem where to shove it. "Strong" female characteristics can only refer to people who happen to be women or who happen to be in situations due partly or wholly to their being female and choosing to deal with the adversity. There is no characteristically "female" way to be strong in the view of most modern feminists since a major goal is breaking down gender binaries and roles. The same can be applied to "perfect."

As for "perfect female role model," there isn't one, and if there was then they would do more harm than good by defining "the proper way to be" a young girl very narrowly and concretely. The only ideal role models would be ones that show that they can process the pressures put on them by society, subvert the ones that they don't agree with and embrace the ones they do. Also, not worshiping at the altar of materialism, insipidity and whoredom wouldn't hurt, either. I mean, is there such a thing as a Freaks and Geeks or My So Called Life today, or is it all really Jersey Shore and One Tree Hill?

That's an unhealthy obsession (because she has short hair which makes her look scary).

I'd agree with that, especially the idea of having "a" perfect role model.

Uh... perfect female for what? A companion or mate has different qualifications (sometimes) than a fighter or police officer, and neither are particularly good role models "to be held above all others".

Women are individuals. Each should choose her role and role model as she sees fit, and she should be open to new experiences, just like everyone.
