what is the scariest monster in all of gaming?

I always have the most horrifying memories of the Blind Ones from Turok 2 (you know... one of the good Turok games).
The Blind Ones are a race of... fat... things... that have long abandoned the surface world and reside underground, in darkness, where their eyes have become all but useless. With their eyes useless and little light being around in the caves, they have the advantage of being adept at this sort of environment.
Looking back, the graphics are pretty bad and the gameplay is tame compared to current games... but... when I first encountered the blind ones when I was 8 years old... when it was dark and the house was silent... when I turned the Turok music off and left sound on... when I was moving through a predominantly dark level... when I suddenly heard the roar behind me...
Seriously... That sort of thing messes with your mind so badly when youre young...
Pant shitting fear aside, I also consider the Sunfire Pod weapon to be the most metal way of killing someone ever. The Sunfire Pod is basically a mega powerful flashbang that sets peoples bodies on fire. Against a race of creatures that live without seeing much light at all, it suddenly becomes super effective. And awesome.

O...M...G! That is the creepiest thing I've ever seen. I almost didn't figure it out until I thought, "that looks like a L4D2 zombie." Hey, do you have pictures of the other NEW special infected as well as the "uncommon" common infected?Xyphon said:

I'm gonna have to actually just go with the guys with sacks on their heads & chainsaws from RE4 & RE5. When I was way younger I had a dream about a guy trying to kill me with a chainsaw. It terrified me. So when I'm running away from those crazy guys in game I feel genuine fear. I guess also because people and chainsaws are real. Monsters aren't as scary cause I know they're just made up for a game. Some creepy guy really could stick a sack on his head and chainsaw you up good and proper if he wanted. It's also an instant death if they get hold of you, like it would be in real life... so yeah... that's the scariest for me.

After this event, I've liked to think of this guy as the manifistation / personification of my game aquaphobia.
And evil malevolent daemon from the depths of hell itself. Now defeated.
Still dont like swimming in the ocean, though.
