The tv show Stargate-SG1 is actually based on fact. It is a cover so that they can blame anyone who stumbles onto the truth of just watching too much tv and being crazy. Stargates are real and the us government are using them in an interstellar war with the aliens.
Also, the moon landing was fake, JFK travelled back in time and shot himelf so he would be remembered as a better president and the moon people are amongst us with their lizard people allies.

What I find amusing about conspiracy theories isn't so much the stories, but the explanations as to why anyone would go to such convoluted lengths to achieve a relatively irrelevant goal. The lunar landing is a prime example of this. I know the world was a different place back then, but seriously, to go to such lengths to construct a lie for the sole purpose of keeping commies out of the history books ... it's absurd

I heard a conspiracy theory that Stephen King was responsible for the assassination of John Lennon. The guy has a whole website with all of these newspaper clippings with words circled and stuff. He went before a state congress to plead with them to sentence Stephen King. One of the congressmen couldn't stop laughing.
