*Does the song revolve around sex, money, drugs, guns, respect, bling, cars, hoes, pride, respect, revenge, or gangs?

*Does the song lack any actual singing?

*Is the music so repetitive that you can really only refur to it as a duatone beat?

*Do the singers dress like clows & dance like they're having a siezure? Do they stick their hands in the camera's personal space?

I miss the hip-hop of the early 90s; it was often funny. Tone Loc always managed to pick himself up a dragqueen & tell a story. It was appropriately censored for chilren's ears.

Well... you know.
I agree with that song.

There was even a line that said "And I got her....grocery bag."

What the fuck does that even mean???

Oh come on. Most of you guys aren't even trying.

Dee Dee from the Ramones tried his hand at rap for a while in the 80s. The results weren't great:

Then there was Devastatin' Dave...

How come no-one has posted this legendary video yet?

...and let's not forget the sequel (watch for the wooden spoon attack, a tried-and-true way of repelling special anti-piracy forces):

Someone obviously saw Mr. T in The A-Team and thought "he looks like a rapper, that's all you need to be able to rap, right?" Wrong. Proof that rap takes talent cos Mr. T sure ain't got any.

What people don't realise is that like it or not, the "bitches, hoes, cash" music is actually the good stuff.

Momma Said Knock You Out. I don't remember the artist's name but that's the song.
That'd be L L Cool J. Come on, that was the best song he ever did! Although he was really just ripping off Public Enemy's "Rebel Without A Pause", both musically and in terms of lyrical delivery.

I'm amazed nobody's done this one yet.
I shall learn to dance like this and be the whitest guy at the club, ever.
I'm gonna vote for Nine Thou by Styles of beyond and crank that by soulja boy. shouting "ho" over the last word of every line is just retarded

What the hell was that? The stupidity of it did make me laugh, though. I hope that's supposed to be a joke kind of rap, because if not, oh boy...

Still somewhat awesome though.

Edit: After listening to the rapper say that he was doing the hard part, I get the feeling that the creator of this song was a little biased.
Hey, I remember that! It has a lot of nostalgia factor; it's not an awful rap. D: Is it bad that I could almost sing along with it? xD I watched waaaaaay too much Pokemon when I was a kid...

Not all rap is bad. some of it is the best stuff I have ever heard. The stupidst ones are about hoes money drugs ect. but the political ones and personal problems are the best. like Rehab's bottles and cans and it don't matter.

I think this song is funny as hell actually. Maybe you have to be someone in the public eye to understand.

That DMX track is far, far, far from the worst. The rhyme scheme is hardly complex, but at least he's not rhyming words with the exact same words. Plus the beat is downright complicated and musical next to 99% of the stuff on airwaves now.

Rap, like every other form of music, has gotten progressively worse as the music industry attempts to plug the leak of internet piracy with evermore bland and idiotic product. Their obsession with turning around the raw finances has lead to focus-testing out the ass, and the only result has been a gross simplification of all genres.

The same thing is happening to the film and videogame industries. It's intensely depressing for people who value creativity in these mediums. On the bright side, television has long been the absolute worst culprit in this department, but that industry has pulled a complete 180. You'll find the most engaging, risky, and experimental stuff is on the boob tube now. Maybe music will do the same once it hits rock bottom, and maybe gaming will recognize the pattern before the majority of creative devs go to other mediums.

true, but those are very very very very very very very rare to find, thanks to new mainstream rap burying any other piece of rap that had some potential.

I think it's a little biased to suggest that the mainstream is burying rap exclusively or even especially. 95% of the rock, folk, country, etc. on mainstream radio/television is equally shit.

I'd have to say "Miracles" by the Insane Clown Posse, now I don't know much about this group but if the rest of their songs are anything like that waste of sound then keep that shit the hell away from me.
