Big Rigs:eek:ff the road racing. Widely acknowledged as the worst game of all time.
I love this game.

It's so horrible
, but it sold more than 20,000 copies. I'm so glad that my friend has it.

Also, defender for the GC looked so promising. I don't know how I got myself to actually go and beat it.

It was terrible. I was only reminded of it by the poster above me.

To provide examples of how terrible it is, suffice to say that pressing the right trigger -A LITTLE BIT- was accelerate, and if you held it all the way it, it was "brake and strafe mode"
What the hell? How can you hate that game and love it as well?
I never said I hated it.

It's just terrible.

It was shipped pre-alpha. I love it because it's entertaining to drive up mountains with no speed change, and to put a paperweight on my spacebar and go -8 million MPH (there's no speed cap for reverse).

It's funny, but the game is terrible. They spent like $10k for the budget of the game...It's so horrible it makes me laugh.

I don't hate it..

Ah worst games. Such a long list. I hated Icon, Shaq Fu (I was sick and Mom rented it for me..I hate Mom..) but I have to place at the top of my worst list was Total goddamn Recall. That taxi part was...ugh. I still feel dirty.

and I actually liked 'D'

This is pathetic...I've been lurking about on these forums for quite some time and after reading this thread I am forced to actually say something

First of all, I agree with a few others in the respect that "There is no way in hell that halo 3 is the worst game you've ever played" ...in fact I'm gonna have to say the vast majority of games on this list don't deserve such a shitty wrap furthermore, this "worst game evar" list should be categorized by console or genre at least but it isn't my barbeque so I'll just add my own suggestion

"Perfect Weapon" for the PSX was probably the first thing that came to mind when I opened this thread... I'll never forget that clunky ass combat, those awkward controls, the dying in the icy world until you figured out that you needed to pick up serums quicker than a junkie with a pile of scattered cocaine in order to keep your ass from turning into a popsickle but alas this game is also spared the guillotine ...because it was such an early title in the PSX lifespan and it did technically "work"

My pick for "worse game ever" though has to be .. Quest 64 on the N64

E.T. for the Atari.
Perhaps it is too easy of a pick, but god damn, it has the infamous status that it does for a reason. It's a game so truly terrible, that me as a little tike trying to figure out wtf was going on and raging at the game will forever be burned into my skull.

I remember playing that game a lot, and it worked just fine for me. Perhaps your cart was just borked?

steambot chronicles(PS2)- without a doubt

from the back of the box i was expecting something like GTA meets steampunk anime with a jazz sound track- what it was was D.U.L.L & slow & repetitive, the robots you drove around in handled like, like . . . i cant even think of anything that would handle that badly- its almost as if they didnt want you to get anywhere or have fun, what little of the narrative sections i got to see (between trudging between locales at two miles an hour) were unbelieveably trite and again D.U.L.L, i never got to explore much of the world because the sheer drudgery of getting anywhere was never even remotely worth the effort (if you can call sitting holding one button down for ten long empty minutes effort) there just never seemed much for me to actually do!

some games that start poorly or slow pick up when the mandatory training section is over- depending on the genre three hours and i can usually tell whether thats likely- after three hours i was almost catatonic with boredom and the next day i took it back and exchanged it.

there are only two other games i've been so disappointed with- unlimited saga(PS2) and in cold blood(PSX)- though in both of their cases terrible voice acting played a huge part as well.

@pigeon: LOL. Really bad game(the robot one).

One of the worst I ever played was DOD:S. I was expecting much, much more. Like using tanks, or just some good maps. But all maps I played sucked, the weapons were kinda unbalanced. Rifle = one shot kill, germans have non-semi-automatic, US army has semi-automatic ones. And the US army players are friggin idiots, like one clip, one kill, and this is unrealistic, because the USA rifles were crap. And the player models looked really, really, really dumb. On both sides. Valve could have done MUCH more for this game. Another crap game I played was Gothic 3. After a bombastic first part, a good second part and a good addon, the third part is really, really BAD. The fighing system has been reduced to mouseclicks(click right to lame-win), the main character walk like the other main-characters fu**** him in the ass, it's too easy and you grind yourself retarded. Also the orcs had the ability to speak properly, which was REALLY dissappointing and boring = no more laughing about funny orc-speax :`(.

Masters of Orion 3. Yes, you can increase the bus time frequency to get 0.000000000000001% extra planetary power. Oh, and you have to do it every turn to win.

Actually, I've changed my mind. Rolling Thunder for the Amiga.

I'm assuming most people now the original arcade version which is so awesome that I once spent a whole day at Alton Towers playing it (Sad I know), but the Amiga version...

Ok, it has the music...10 seconds of it...that it then repeats in a loop and you can't get rid of.
Then it has the controls. One button joystick only where Up is jump, Up+Fire is jump upwards, Fire is Fire. And if you jump in the wrong place you die.
Then there's the one frame animation on the sprites.
Then there's the fact your character in a time based game walks everywhere, with a limp.
Then there's the fact that all of the different characters are dressed as one, so you never know if characters take one shot or three; or have guns and you have limited ammo.
So all you know about an incoming bullet is a flash of animation, followed by a delayed shot as a bullet leaps across the screen which you have to dodge in the second you have as long as you're not already engaged in an action, and this can happen at any point in the game.

To put it in perspective, the 64 version was marginally better, which is like saying that a PS1 game is better than it's PS3 port.

I have this annoying habit of not buying bad games. I find it nicely reinforces my status as "not a moron". (Not saying anything bad about anybody who's posted here, although I realize it can look like that.)

Rent before you buy.

For me, there are but two games that I have ever traded in for being just bad.

Resident Evil (DS). Horrible controls. Impossible to really navigate. Traded in for Resident Evil (GCN), which I still have to this day, sitting pretty on my book shelf in all it's violent glory.

Far Cry Vengeance (Wii). Imagine playing Halo 2 using only your rear end, with the melee button stuck on turbo so you're constantly swinging your machete, impossible to aim your jumps, the entire game is paved with ice, MC is wearing ice skates, you're apparently glowing so brightly that baddies can see you from another state, and any ammunition the baddies drop is only about a quarter of what you need, and is so weak it might as well be made out of half-melted ice cream. Yeah. I accepted the $15 store credit for that one.
