Not the point I wanted to make. I'm pretty sure he doesn't actually think it's the worst game, he just said so to get a reaction out of B-Cell. Don't really know why tho. It'll be the same as usual.

The flaw with this question is that most people actually try to avoid playing the Worst games ever made.
How does that make the question flawed?
I am just saying that people would actively avoid playing the worse games ever made.

Name a person that would genuinely purchase and play Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing?

But this isn't about the worst games ever made, it's about the worst games you've actually played. It's a reasonable question.

But usually it just ends up in people saying the worse gmaes they have ever played ended up being games that gained critical acclaim or generally positive reception. Both critics and fans.

But for the sake of the thread, the worse game I have played is Man o War: Corsair and how increadibly unpolished it is, it looked janked in its beta and early access and it still is Jank now.

I dunno if 'flawed' is the right word, but I think what Sam's trying to say is that why would you intentionally play a game that you thought was bad, and why would you keep playing a game if it was the worst you'd ever played. And even if you did, you'd probably forget it real quick. That's the thought process I had anyway when I saw the thread.

Having said that, I've played some pretty damn shitty games, but never forced myself to finish any.

One game that many of my friends and my brother told me to play was The Warriors. I loved the movie, and didn't even know there was a game of it. So I jumped at the opportunity. Despite doing very well in the ratings, I just could not enjoy this game. The combat felt clunky and unsatisfying, and the actual objectives were just ridiculous. Stealing car stereos, tagging up walls, robbing people, I lived near a bad neighborhood while I was in high school and this was just the kind of shit I quickly learned to hate as it happened on a daily basis. I guess it's the petty nature of the crimes that annoyed me, if it was stealing a tank and running over police cars in GTA, I didn't mind that so much. Anyway, I didn't get too far in that game.

Gettysburg armoured warfare. Though I couldn't really play it because it was too broken for that. I'm not too annoyed, I got it in a steam seasonal sale deal allong with CKII, magicka and a bunch of other neat stuff. Totalbiscuit has a video somewhere tearing it to shreds because it misses basic functionality for those who are interested. I have some more stuff that straight up doesn't function, sometimes won't even load at all. I've seen people play victoria II and it looks neat but it won't work on my computer for some reason.

Disregarding the completely disfunctional, what I thouroughly hated was Painkiller. I ran into gamebreaking glitches the first level I tried, the bossfights and story were terrible, the music gave me a headache. Maybe I was just in a bad mood when I played it but it can burn for all I care.

Since we are also mentioning games that really aren't so bad but that we personally really didn't like: there have been games that were high quality in some regards (graphics, scope) that made me feel more actively miserable or annoyed than the completely disfunctional nonsense mentioned above. GTAV was so cynical and edgy without actual edge, that it infuriated me. Besides that, the gameplay was clunky as hell and the missions scripted to the point where I might as well have been watching a movie. I also ragequit metroid: prime pretty shortly into it. I like the controls to be such that I don't need auto-aim to look around. I'd also like to conveniently look up in my first person game. Especially in an exploration game with hidden secrets and stuff. The looking around should be my job, not pre-programmed.

I'd also like to mention no more heroes for having the most eye hurting graphics I've ever seen.

Ok, ok, I guess that's cheating since it's a movie licensed game. Little short pants wearing Dirty Hipsters Jr. didn't know any better though.

I guess at least it's a functional game.
I really liked that game as a kid. I'd like to look at it and see if it holds up but I cannot find it anywhere. I remember retrying earthworm jim 3d a year ago and being amazed at how bad the camera was.

Hmm, in recent memory it would have to be some F2P game like the Marvel: Omega Forces bollocks. It's just bad. So bad. I zipped through testing each character during the tutorial as their tiny, underdeveloped models performed their functionally identical 3 moves on brain-dead waves of underdeveloped enemies in barren, underdeveloped maps (or map - I couldn't stomach another level), before reaching the conclusion that maybe time was too precious to give any more to this farce. It seems to still be going, so I'm not sure who the poor souls are that keep funding it.
Get the Lego Marvel games instead, they're essentially timeless works of high art in comparison.

Then there's APB Reloaded. It's like...it's...it wants to be GTA online, I think. But the Ride To Hell of GTA Onlines.

I don't feel like bringing up the more popular games right now for this, it's been said and done, plus it rings a bit hollow in comparison. Saying that though - hopefully this isn't a controversial opinion - but Agents of Mayhem looks frankly quite terrible, i have no desire to even try it. What happened to Volition? Did their team experience a mass exodus? Was the project canned halfway through by the publisher, forcing the option of releasing it now to recuperate some of their costs or not at all?
It looks like it was meant to be a hero-based multiplayer sandbox at some early stage in development that was hurriedly turned into something else for a release.

Back in the day, I didn't know how to even find reviews. NES games were supposed to be a fairly safe bet as they maintained quality standards. So I bought Dungeons and Dragons with my hard earned late 1980s $50 new and it was, IMHO, broken. I would later go on to rent Superman 64 and was flabergasted as to how bad it was. I mean, you would think they would want a title they just spent real money on to purchase a license, and they made that steaming pile of a game?

This is a tough thing to answer objectively, especially since it's naturally been purged from memory. I'm getting a headache trying to recall actually. Oh, the horror.

Funny aside, when I was typing "I'm getting" above (on iPhone) it auto-corrected to
"I'm ghetto girl".

No shit. Is the even politically correct? I wasn't even more than four letters into it.

Rory McIlroy PGA Tour 15. EA?s PGA Tour games are the only instance of my buying into yearly releases; I?m used to them stripping out features I like in lieu of others I hate, them nickel-n?-diming me on courses that came with the game in previous iterations, I?m even used to the general lack of obvious improvements as there?s only so much you can do year over year to change a game that basically a simulator, but PGS Tour 15 was a slap in the face with a flaccid donkey dick. They literally took several steps back in EVERY facet of the game: fewer courses, customization options reminiscent of two console generations ago, NO LPGA golfers at ALL, bare bones online play, no Country Clubs, fewer gameplay modes, etc. It was a shit-ton travesty; biggest waste of $60 ever. Particularly insulting that they took a full TWO YEARS away from the franchise as they transitioned from Tiger Woods? brand, so they had plenty of time to at least give us the same game as years prior if not a better one. I?d have much rather taken that $60 and burnt it than give EA a single CENT for that utter garbage.

I was going to go with some C64 crap because damn there was some garbage back then with a few diamonds but no it has to be Soul Calibur Lost Swords not because it is the worse playing game I have ever played again some C64 games barely functioned nor for the cost because it was a free to play game but because of how bad the entire concept was (a single player fighting game) and how terribly it was executed (gutted movelists, non existant story or anything to keep you engaged with beyond grinding for better stuff to get better stuff to get more characters for ???, menus that would take literally at least a minute to load every single time and ofc the old favourite always online which of course meant it was literally unplayable a lot of the time since it would not let you log in to their server).

Now if this was a new IP I would just have thought it was awful but it has become the worst game I have ever played simply because of how it absolutely utterly disrespects the franchise and cashes in on its name it was just an absolutely disgusting game that hopefully we never see anything of again in any way shape or form. Basically they Ea`d it.

If we were going for worst as in most hated however it would be Donkey Kong Country on SNES not a bad game tbh but omg I so hate it even after all these years just thinking of that game makes my blood boil.

I reckon some people are right now playing some absolute trash on their mobiles that would probably top a lot of peoples lists and yet loving it. sad times.

Hunted Demon's Forge comes to mind immediately. Picked it up because I thought it would be fun to play co-op with my girlfriend, could barely make it past the first level because of how clunky the game is and the controls are very unintuitive.
The melee combat us boring, and then half of the game turns into a cover based shooter with crossbows which is probably the most unwanted gameplay I wanted in a medieval fantasy game

Lately? I don't think any game made me "nope" out faster in the last couple of years than For Honor. God, that game is bad. The entire design of that game just doesn't make any sense and I've never seen a game who's balance utterly breaks in the most popular game mode.
