When you take out a percentage of your target audience due to a stylistic feature in your advertisements, it's time to shoot your marketing committee. Just shoot them dead because that is a stupid, stupid decision.

Who are they attempting to cater to? I don't get photosensitive seizures, but the flashing is just annoying. Raves aren't even as bad as some of these videos. Did all of the current video editors grow up in the ritalin era?

Can someone explain this idiocy to me?

By that logic, nobody would include racist/sexist/homophobic etc stuff in their songs either, and there's genres almost based on that sort of thing.

I wonder what the overlap is between gamers and epileptics.

My advice: Untwist your knickers.

This is only 2 examples. I think that qualifies as a coincidence.
Besides, the Japanese have had game shows like that for years!

I remember when we had fire drills in school, I always had to look down as the sound and flashing lights of the alarms would make my head hurt. It really sucked.

What? That seems kinda off topic? Well, what do you want me to say to this? Does it even matter? No one is forcing you to watch that stuff. Actually, since one of those is Kanye West it was safe from me to begin with. [small]I really don't like that guy.[/small]

I know, right? They should totally stop designing buildings with stairwells, too. Oh, and there are far too many people that struggle to swim, so why the hell do people keep manufacturing swimwear?! This world's gone mad I say.

In all seriousness though, I can see where you're coming from, but that's just not how the world always works. There are always going to be things that certain people can't do because they suffer from severe epilepsy, or are allergic to certain things, etc. But that doesn't mean that no-one should be allowed to produce or enjoy them if they can.

There's a few explanations for this, but lets go with the most basic: You're talking about them, arn't you? Thanks to those lights, you have now informed everyone here about the existence of those things. So really, they just won.
