Well it's that time of year again, the stores are filled with crazed shoppers all vying for the must have toy of the year, repetitive music thunders throughout the store, and every other TV channel has a Christmas movie playing. Tonight I chose to indulge in watching a feelgood classic pertaining to the holiday season, The Santa Clause. This has been one of my favorite Christmas movies ever since I saw it for the first time at the tender age of 3.

So in the spirit of the Holidays, what is your favorite Christmas/holiday movie?

(The first person who claims that Elf was better than The Santa Clause gets thrown into the rabid weasel pit.)

A Charlie Brown Christmas. Even though it's very apparent the scale of the movie's budget ($50,000, which is fantastically little, less than an eighth of the size of Napoleon Dynamite) it's phenomenally charming, like a painting by Scott Campbell. I love it, even though I as an animation student should loathe it.

Eewww, Christmas movies are worse than the entire fiasco itself. Honestly, I can't stand this month.

Probably the worst was that movie with Schwarzenegger, Jingle All the Way. God that movie was awful. And stupid!

First off, I can only think of Life of Brian. It's somewhat related to Christmas anyways.

I actually prefer TV series' Christmas episodes. The only problem there being, that I happen to watch them basically any random time, except Christmas.

The Snowman [http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084701/] might actually be the best answer. They've shown it every Christmas here on TV for as long as I can remember and for many is an important piece of the Christmas tradition even.

You can't beat that Walking In The Air song.

Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas! as narrated by Boris Karloff because of the aforementioned narrator and the lovely recurrent musical number sung by the original Tony the Tiger, Thurl Ravenscroft.

Christmas Vacation because it's a fine example of Chevy Chase at his comedic zenith.

and

White Christmas because of Bing Crosby--god damn, was that guy ever "an average guy who could carry a tune."

Christmas movies are just terrible. They're easier to write than gibberish and many of them have the same soundtrack.

The Garfield Christmas Special, and the 1999 version of A Christmas Carol with Patrick Stewart as Scrooge.

...That IS the whole point of the film...that said I've only seen bits of it.

But nevertheless, Die Hard. YES IT COUNTS SHUT UP.

The only thing I can view in a positive light when it comes to christmas related programming is the Invader Zim christmas episode "The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever"

I'm with you on that. However, the OP's choice of The Santa Clause shows that he has very good taste.

Oh, and that one really old puppet-cartoon Christmas special (you know the kind) where Santa takes the year off. It has this kick-ass little number, which ranks it as Most Awesome Lame Movie Ever.

How is everyone forgetting Bad Santa? Bad Santa is a totally awesome film, and Billy Bob Thornton is fucking hilarious.

My birthday is on Christmas Day, so I've always been a little jaded about this stupid holiday, but that film makes me happy during the worst month of my year.
