Oh that's easy, the one game I can remember playing at friends houses, Mario Kart. We played that for hours.

I'm going to say all of the above, and throw in Super Ninja Boy.
The reviewer's brand of humor is kinda shit, but he says the things I'd say about the game.
Holy hell, I thought I was the only one to ever play that game.
And you liked it I hope? I know there's a lot about it that wouldn't hold up today, but I know I had fun with it, and I've never played another game quite like it.
Of course. One of the very few games that had co op on the SNES, and when you have a little brother, 2 player is a deal maker.

That and it has one of the more... "unique" save systems I've seen. Specifically the pass code system. You'd think you need to be 100% accurate, but apparently if you intentionally mess up on 1-4 characters of the passcode and enter it 5 times, it'll start you somewhat close to where you originally saved, but with max money.

Don't ask me why I still remember that....

Yeah, I found something similar too, and it delayed all my progress. I found if you entered in just the first set of numbers, it would place you in the town you "saved" at. It wouldn't keep much else though. I dont know how much optional stuff I collected and didn't keep because of that. I do remember the max money cheat was something really simple like /? and you'd get a new game with the cash. No need for it honestly, because the high encounter rate gave you enough.

Well, because I use the Playstation release of Chrono Trigger, my answer would probably have to be Super Metroid unless somebody can remind me of a few of the other good times I ever had with SNES games.

You do realize that port is god awful right? The load time comparisons are hilarious.

This may come as an utter shock to you, but... Well, lemme put it this way:

Anyone can SAY a thing, but if the other never experienced that thing, then it makes no sense to them.

I can't decide between FF2(4) and FF3(6)....

So I'll pick an odd-ball choice and say Romance of the Three Kingdoms II. :3

There are a lot of great games to choose from, but I'd say Chrono Trigger. It is followed closely by Super Metroid.

The Lion King Probably the BEST 'based on a movie' game.
This, weirdly, that game was hard as hell, definitely over a kids head, even now as an 18yr old, I still can't finish it.
It is, but that's what also makes it such a FANTASTIC game.

Some of the sections, like the various 'chase' scenes were pretty darn hard but rewarding when you finally BEAT them.

Plus, to this day, it looks so damn pretty.
Hell yeah, I remember that game. Totally awesome. I used to rent it at my local videoshop, but I never could finish it. Bloody hard! Another tough game? Zombies Ate my Neighbours!

As for my favourite SNES game, it's almost too tough to choose. The game I played the most was definitely Super Mario World, but Super Metroid or Secret of Mana is right up there. Others I loved to death were Donkey Kong Country, Flashback, Stunt Race FX, Alien 3, Super Probotector and the Magical Quest: starring Mickey Mouse.

In the end though, Zelda: A Link to the Past beats them all. (I never played Chrono Trigger or FFVI on the SNES).

I am tempted to say Chrono Trigger, even though, looking back at it objectively, it's not that great a game. Still, I love it because for me, characters make everything, and this was the first game I ever played where I could choose the characters in the party and they all had dialogue that clearly belonged to them.

I think my real choice is Megaman X3, though. That game is hard as hell but not infuriatingly so (looking at you, Megaman X5-7, and for the first time in a Megaman game, it has multiple paths so the choices you make early in the game will affect the layout of maps and even the bosses you face and weapons you gain.

Honorable mention goes out to Yoshi's Island, which has amazing graphics and some of the best, most interesting and inventive platform challenges you're ever going to see in a 16-bit game. Plus, I love how much it embraces the absolute acid-trip weirdness of the Mario franchise: Touch a bubble and it turns a boot-wearing dinosaur into a helicopter because why wouldn't it?

Exactly. This is why I tend to prefer JRPG's over western RPG's; fully fleshed out (main)characters.

Link to the Past. But then I didn't own an SNES, so this is based off the 4 or 5 titles I played at friends' houses.

Bahamut Lagoon - A turn based strategy/RPG hybrid where you commanded squads of characters (each a JRPG party in its own right) and dragons, which you had to raise and train yourself, shaping both their physical attributes, spells and behavior (dragons were AI controlled). Also, nobody other than myself seems to have ever heard of that game, so I feel like a total gaming hipster... :p
