Oh man.
This is what makes me sort of see myself as a total n00b, because I'm an artist, but I've never made anything grand in Minecraft. o: I've even started making really SMALL houses where I have what I need and what I need only before going spelunking.
I should really start building shit.

Creative - Spirited Away's Bathhouse, with the surrounding village (still building it though. server, y u no come back online?!?).
SSP - Lots of stuff, my friend thinks a castle I built (no editing/hacks) was the best. The lava death pit volcano-style in the middle of it is the most attractive in my opinion... good for sacrifices to the Nether God...
SMP - An entire underground city, in which you could travel by boat or foot along the passways, with lots of houses and shops, and almost invisible watchposts from which we could ambush the enemy if they actually managed to go through the vault-style entance (full legit obsidian). It had a palace included and took me 5 real life days to get the grass to go underground to the palace gardens. I built it all on my own for my faction, they loved it, but the server reset soon after... /sadface.

I built an underwater/underground base and a steel block lined chamber to hold my master oblivion gate.
Look up finite water by djoslin. It's a mod that has water behave like real water. And there can be flooding when it rains.Merkavar said:

Anyone can build a structure, I am a master of death. I am that guy that sets traps, biggest catch was on the so called 'creature server' which is my favorite. And one of the creatures (Someone here has to know who I'm talking about(if yes, it was Sly)) and was apparently showcasing something and bang he and over 90 other people set my trap of that filled up the cave (full of diamond ore) with water.
Oh, yes my personal disclaimer. I don't normally do lethal or stuck forever traps, I usually just fill houses with loot and leave them open and boobytrap the living shit out of it. And I like building too

My cousins and a few friends of mine built a giant, mountaintop estate, which has a ton of bedrooms and a nether portal on the roof. the base is at cloud level, and there's a huge, aztec-style stone staircase that leads up to the front door
I have this thing with Minecraft. I almost exclusively make airships and golems. Whole fucking maps just dotted with them. If I join someone else's game, I will immediately start building them and I have no idea why.
They are not even particularily good. Sometimes they get freakishly huge, but never really intricate or anything.

It has a throne room,
a storage room under the throne room's carpet,
a kitchen,
a dining room with a ceiling made of glowstone,
a bath room with the inside of the bath made of glowstone,
a wall aroun the castle with a minetrack running around it,
a library,
a garden with a wooden house on top of the castle,
a secret room being a painting that leads to a nether portal.
