Everyone has their own food that they gorge on to feel better when times get tough. What's yours?

My grandma just died a few days ago, and myself, my mom, and my aunt went to start cleaning out her house, and afterwards decided to have ice cream and mojitos for dinner. That was our comfort food. Ice cream and mojitos make a fine dinner. xD

Sorry for your loss.

Any and all carbs, I don't have a huge sweet tooth but I could eat crisps for days.
I normally go for something savoury when I'm feeling sorry for myself.

Gelatinous sweets, like Haribos for example. For some reason I love those, maybe because they aren't too sugary in taste and have a nice feel on the tongue.

Never done the comfort food thing. I do really like rice and vegetables though. Whether it's sushi, stir fried, etc.

Potato chips are always there for me, even when I feel sick from eating too many of them. Hurray...

More seriously, sushi. That's a real pickmeup.

This may be a bit odd, but I really enjoy snacking on mini peppers like these:

I have been described as a bit of a health food nut, but eating these things make me feel a little better, but as a general rule of thumb I tend to not comfort eat, I tend to work out any issues through either playing video games (at the moment the game is Watch_dogs) or use my punching bag.

For when I feel emotionally down? Chocolate. Specifically Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. I am addicted to those damn things.

In general? I prefer home-cooked meals as general comfort food. Especially those dishes with garlic. And pasta. Ah hell, I'll just admit that I'm an Alfredo addict as well. :D

Sushi for me, too. I will never turn down sushi, I could easily eschew all other foods in favour of it.

Not really a comfort 'food' per se, but I like a drink when I'm down. Specifically a mix of the following:

- Irish cream
- Kahula
- SakƩ
- Espresso (I personally use it)

... assuming one is old enough to purchase their own liqueurs/liquors, and enough of a booze hound to drink it. As for comfort *food*, pancakes and whipped cream would do nicely.

Whenever I'm stressed out or feel like crap, I usually just start working too hard and forget to eat. But on the off chance I remember:

- really spicy mapo tofu
- really spicy Freebird's burrito
- Taiwanese beef noodle soup with the pickled cabbage on top

Iced oatmeal raisin Luna bars, and I've been known to eat four or five of them in 15 minutes.

Sorry about that news for me that steak and bullet rye situation then you have sushi if it was just a string of bad days but nothing to pin the weight on and if I am angry I eat really spicy things.

Comfort food? Snickers bars... and, if I run out of Snickers bars, then it's either deluxe cookies or fruit snacks...

Then again, I tend to lean more towards comfort music than comfort food in general...

"New York" style ciabatta melt.

Kinda like a ciabatta toastie with fried onion, steak (rare), and melted cheese.

Potato chips, usually very spicy or salt 'n pepper. Down it all with Dr. Pepper. This reminds me I need to scour every grocery shop near me for that as getting Dr P in belgium is nigh impossible.
