Currently hollowing out a cavern for an underground fortress. Even in creative peaceful it's taking a lot of time, but hopefully it'll be worth it.

I don't seem to be able to finish any of my projects though, was building a series of watchtowers in one world with beacons on top, which were supposed to be able to alert my base of any hostile activity (all towns had a watchtower watching over it) - I was kinda working on a bit of lore for the place when I suddenly found myself bored. After that I tried building a small fortress, which was supposed to be the outer defences of an entrance to an underground base, but that also fell through because I didn't plan my location well enough. Ravines, lava and huge underground lakes everywhere, made it too much of a hassle.

I've got a cave that branches off a few times, and I've made a small passage over to the nearby covered ravine. I'm currently in creative refurbishing it with stone instead of the ugly dirt-cobble-gravel mesh.

:(

I left myself standing by my mob trap while I went and had dinner. When I came back I was dead and somehow all my stuff was gone.

MINECRAFT RAGE!!!!

I had just made a suit of diamond armour!

Me and my girlfriend have taken it upon myself to restore an NPC village using latest prerelease. Basically, restore the houses, add to them and make a bitching castle out of stone brick.

At the moment, we're just living in two of the better houses.

A huge tower.

But then I abandoned it to travel the far seas. Now I'm making a huge air railway.

In before it's abandoned due to costs.

Cleared out a 64X64 block area, built a stone wall around it 7 blocks high, lined the top with Netherakk and lit it on fire (partly to have the area around the wall lit up, partly to burn any spiders that try to climb in), 2 block wide moat of lava around it with a sticky piston based drawbridge underneath to get in/out. Inside the wall, I built a small town (currently have a farm, a fenced in area where I keep my dogs, a mineshaft, and a small castle with a hidden doorway where I live and store all my stuff). All structures are carefully designed so you do not see the sticky pistons or redstone wiring that make up the various contraptions.

I'm currently working on 'The Ark', like in Brink!

A self-sustaning society that is floating above ground.
Although construction has been put on hold, because i'm waiting for either 1.9 to come out in which i'll have to wait for the Technic pack to be updated, or for the Technic pack to be updated for 1.8.

I need the technic pack because of redstone wires, and drilling operations.
Plus Equivalent exchange, so i can exchange cobblestone for loads of materials.
Hence the 'sustainability' part.

Well my home is an island, Buuuut, the true home of it is the castle in the center of the island.

The red roofed castle at the top is the royal keep which the red roof extends to the ceiling of the sky where I could no longer build any higher. Thing is what you dont see is that this castle is a city unto itself as it extends into nearly infinite passageways that burrow all the way down to the bedrock level. There are shafts that extend from bedrock all the way up to the sky ceiling. and there is the beginnings of an underground darkwood forest on the bedrock level.

The castle itself is essentially the mountain it is built on, hollowed out with various housing rooms, An extensive library, Indoor aquarium, Swimming pool, massive 200 furnace foundry, Working rail station that runs cargo from bedrock into the castle for fabrication inside the foundry. and plenty more features I cant even think of at the moment.

I gave my friend a copy of my save file and it took him right at 4 hours to work his way through all the relevent points in the castle to give you an idea of the scope of it.

PC which I run server off has blown up....

Before that iv'e had some standard looking house's, giant skyscrapers with each player living on a different floor, underground bases, resident evil style mansion with underground lab.

My last one was a giant oil rig type thing in the middle of a lake, kinda like the big shell from MGS2.

I haven't played in a bit, but when I do I play on my friends multiplayer server. We have a lot of very large structures. My one friend lives in an underground city, and his girlfriend lives in her glass tower with waterfall. But as for me, I live in a hot air balloon. Here's a picture of it. It looks a lot bigger in-game. Especially when you reach the Crows Nest on top. I love when the clouds roll by.

The next time I play, I plan to build a very big tree-house.

Indoor wheat/sugar cane farms, 25 story mushroom farm with light switch, vine farm, indoor swimming pool, bedroom, snow golem turrets, automated mushroom farm, nether wart farm, storage rotunda (32 chests, 4 crafting tables, 20 furnaces) full book room for enchanting (Piston door for no lost space) 4x4 furnace, 64 per harvest pumpkin farm, 64 per harvest water melon farm, snow generator (snow golems in a closed room, and a large protected tree farm. All of that was built legitimately, on an 800 player PVP vanilla, no rules server (with monsters). Does I win this thread?

Last thing I did started out as:
- underground shelter
- then extended into a small tunnel to the other side of the mountain
- then branched out the tunnels in all directions of the mountain with 8 lanes of powered rails
- then extended the tunnels into a fully hollowed out mountain
- was too dark so I flooded the floor with lava and covered it with glass
- still too dark so I replaced the entire mountain shell with glass to get sunlight

Now that might sound neat but it actually looks horrid, without the contrast of various materials the whole thing is just a huge blob of repeating texture.

Tree House, what else?
What I did is took a nice 3D picture of the eiffel tower, put the resolution down and you are pretty much set, just fill up the inside with rooms and such and your tree house is done.

I did take it off a you tube series if I remember correctly.

Currently it's just a 4-story lighthouse. I intend ot make a massive floating villa on the ocean though, to escape the Wrath of the Endermen.

Not exactly. We just file transfered it across Instant messengers. However if I figure out a location to get a 100MB file hosted after I get my midterms done, Ill host it online.

I have the seperate 1.8 version of the mods that are in the technic pack. Some of the most amazing mods I have played. Main pillars are buildcraft, industrialcraft2, and equivalent exchange. I can make Nuclear reactors that are wired to grinders which grind up two iron dusts per one iron oar block which self-feeds itself into a superfurnace that runs on energy and can cook two things at a time at three or four times the speed of a regular furnace, which then is piped out of the furnace and into an alchemic chest that automaticlly converts items into other items via the equivalent exchange mod.
If you have no idea what I am talking about, google 'technic pack, blue xephos' 7 part series on this mod. I am telling you, you are missing out.(it is on 1.7.3, but the vast majority of the mods, all but 3 I think, are updated to 1.8)

Anyway, I have a long wooden home with stone roofing in the middle of a rubber-tree forest (a rather rare tree that is in industrialcraft that you can farm renewable rubber resin out of to make machinary and cabling.) With two electric furnaces, and two grinders inside with a second floor with a gradually sloping inwards stone roof until it flattens out at about 4,5 blocks from the floor, with a trap-door leading up to a small roof 'garden' of 8 solar pannels to charge batteries for my machinery. Should be putting the super-furnace and nuclear reactor in soon.

My current house is a big, blocky, cobblespam castle and I hate it because it looks so stupid. My more recent stuff is so much better.
