I have great impatience with building anything manually larger than a two-story house. Unless I have cuboid at my disposal I don't build any super structures because I know I'll lose interest and just leave a giant ugly skeleton of what was meant to be a castle tower or sky base.

I did build a sweet house on an outcropping cliff, which had a lake far below and was easily about 100 feet in the air. Built a deck under the outcrop so I could go down some stairs and just look out and witness the view. House was wood with green wool roof and a red/yellow wool checkered floor. All legit made.

Its in the original minecraft where you don't actually mine. Its a small open plan room with a bathroom shoved on the back, a helipad on the roof. Outside there's a pool with secret tunnels under the house. It has a moat and behind the house is a big crater with my space ship in it.

Oh I do still have the pics:

I always want to build a kick awesome house, but am actually kind of terrible when it comes to designing things. So it ends up being a cube. Every damn time....

I can't really give you pictures since it's all underground but basically I was exploring a world ages ago back in 1.1-ish when I found a large cave network right next to a smaller cave with two dungeons in it and chose to set up there. As time went on I hollowed out extra rooms containing things such as farms and a Nether Portal.

Nothing fancy like you guys, but it keeps the monsters out and I can get just about everything but wood without having to go to the surface (and the two dungeons, now outfitted with traps, ensure a non-stop stream of XP)

Don't go on that world often now because it lacks so much compared to newer worlds, no Strongholds or other interesting stuff for me :_(

On my brother's multiplayer server, I had floating islands. One had my castle, one was the gate island with a tower going up to it, one was a small guest house, one was a farmland, another was the tram-station, which had a rail-system to my friend and my other home and another island that was nether themed. My strongroom was in the basement of the castle, and my bedroom was the top floor of the castle.

It was epic. All of them were floating islands. It caused hell for my brother underneath though.

Map died though... :(

My single player game, my home is a very large structure with a pretty massive strong-room and a boathouse attached to it... Greenhouse too. And on the new server, I live underground. So, I've been in every major setting. In the air, on the ground, and deep down not far from bedrock.

I don't really play Minecraft that often, I'm not creative enough, but the house I had was a stone building floating just off shore with a lava moat and an underground complex. The complex consists of a rail-line, a Nether Rail-Line, some caves from a fatal accident with TNT Water and Lava which is why my moat is made out of obsidian, and a kennels. There's more, but most of it is just countless mines, most of which I no longer know where they are. My main mine spans from my house to the bedrock, and miles on either side. When I thought I was done with it, I found a new cave next to it almost triple the size and with a massive waterfall in it.

I have no home in Minecraft.

I spend my days exploring the randomly generated, world, in search of the most insanely cool structures I can find. Then, when night comes, I either mine out a little cave that's just big enough for a bed to be safe from monsters attacking me at night, or tough it out and keep venturing forth.

An overly fortified island that wouldnt look out of place in the 40K universe, but so far lacking the gun turrets.

I have a two story house in the middle of a MASSIVE tundra biome. Seriously, I made a map with my house at the center and the tundra took up around 3/4 of the map. Granted, I have a mushroom island far to the west and a horde of ravines and caves to explore, but I digress...

Back On Topic!

My house is little more than a few 5x5 rooms connected together. I have a bedroom above the living room, a storage room with a magic workshop above that, and a more mundane crafting workshop area behind the store room. I also have an enclosed farm to keep my crops safe from the biting frost and a pen to keep animals in.
