I always laugh at all the forms that give the options of "african-american" or "asian -american" or w/e when they still have things like "Caucasian" (to which i always respond that i'm not from the republic of georgia) or just "white." i always think that if i can't call you black or yellow then you can't call me white. if you gotta, call me a european-american.
but since european-american implies im a christian in most cases, you could call me an "ashkenazi jew," or european jew. thats my father's side, with roots in poland (although at the time they were there it was part of the kingdom of prussia), vienna, austria, and the ukraine (kiev and lviv)
on my mom's side, i've got roots in ireland (i think cork county), scotland (clan cameron FTW), and bremerhaven, germany
i always feel proud of my heritage, which spans the full west-east of europe
