probaly code geass but they might be digging that up for a 3rd seaon which may ruin an other wise perfect ending
Suzumiya Haruhi is my favorite, followed by Ouran High School Host Club. Third is generally a tie, between Nichijou and Azumanga Daioh depending on what mood I'm in. Special mentions go to Evangelion and Death Note, which were both series I liked, but would be hard-pressed to call them "Favorites" of mine.

Yu Yu Hakusho. It was interesting and kept its pace well across 112 episodes. I've gone through the series 3-4 times, and I'd do it again with no problem.
I shall so this forever that my favorite anime will always be Dragon Ball Z. Call me overly nostalgic or an idiot as much as you want, no anime will come close to a show about muscle bound, spiky haired guys beating the shit out of Aliens, Androids, Monsters, Evil Wizards with pink Monsters, and each other. It's what a Super Hero comic would be like if Japan made it.
Cowboy Bebop, Night Raid:1931, FMA (original and Brotherhood), Haibane Renmei, Serial Experiments Lain, and Bleach. I could continue but I don't think you guys would like to spend all day reading them haha.
5. Mai-Hime,excellent magic girl deconstruction,loved Mai as a protagonist,not too fond of Otome.
4. Haibane Renmei,beautiful series that says so little but speaks volumes.
3 Usagi Drop,more recent yes but everything about it is so heartwarming and adorable that I can't help but love it.

1. Eve No Jikan, a excellent 6 ONA series about human/android relationships. Go look it up becasue I really can't describe it with out butchering it.
