However, my absolute favorite anime that I've watched multiple times and my jaw still drops is Berserk. I was absolutely blown away by it.
I gotta list all of these because I can't decide!

- Android Kikaider
- Trigun
- Hellsing Ultimate
- Outlaw Star
- High School of the Dead
- Afro Samurai
- Naruto Shippuden
- FLCL
- Durarara
- Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Cowboy Beebop
- Rurouni Kenshin
- Samurai Champloo
- G-Gundam
- Gurren Lagann
- Bleach
- Dragon Ball Z
- School Days
- Busou Renkin

But my all time favorite out of all of these stands as

[HEADING=1]Gurren Lagann[/HEADING]

Because No other anime has had a series finale that completely blown my mind than two universe sized mechs fighting throughout all creation!
It's like someone got into God's Toybox!

Btw, I'm looking to start Evangellion. What do I need to prepare for!?

This is a question I asked myself many times. In terms of fav. It would probably be Welcome to the NHK. But the only series I have watched over 5 FUCKING TIMES!!! Would be Eureka 7. How on earth did they mix slice of life, mecha, romance... I love that show. I just love it.

Probably Samurai Champloo, really good expressive animtion that doesn't rely on cliche tricks, really fluid motion and swift fight scenes and topped off with a couple really well written characters who are opposite sides of the same coin and anime humour that's actually funny.

I'd say... Elfen Lied. The plot wasn't that strong, but I loved the characters -- and nothing makes me love media more than well-rounded characters.

It still needs a second season, the first season only got halfway through the manga's plot.

The only anime I've ever watched more than one or two episodes of has been Inuyasha.

So it wins by default. (i'm still annoyed with Adult Swim for pulling it off it's OnDemand listings)

I also like Big O for its styleized quirkiness and ghost in the shell seems like something I should like (but every episode i've seen has consisted of little more than extensive exposition)

Well depending on your point of view either a tragic and intellectually stimulating fight of giant robots or 26 episodes of shinji whining about being able to save the world by piloting a giant robot, either way the opposite of Gurren Lagann.

OT: Hmm, a single favorite would probably end up being FLCL, something about that series is just so enjoyable. Others I have enjoyed: Spice and Wolf, Code Geass (until the last couple of episodes which I hated), Rozen Maiden was pretty good surprisingly, Baccanno was good. Thats all I can think of at the moment.

My all time favorite has to be Cowboy Bebop. I'd list of my second favorite but unfortunately that is tied with 15+ anime.... I have too much time right now lol... Back to watching Clannad, sooo good yet soooo sad, why do I put myself through this a third time?

Mine is Baccano, everything about is just freaking awesome. Amazing characters, great soundtrack, great english dub, great animation. I can't even begin to express how much I love that anime.
*Sigh* I'm never the first to mention Baccano in these threads. Heh.

It's definitely my favourite too- besides all the points raised above, it's also got this great balance of smart philosophical dialog and badass action, kinda like Pulp Fiction. Also: It's noir. Done right. So very right.

Second place is saved for FLCL. The animation, the voiceacting, the surreal writing- it's all perfect.

I'm not sure I have a favourite, but I really do like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Death Note, Code Geass, Last Exile and Cowboy Bebop. I'm currently watching the Persona 4 anime and a new anime called Future Diary. Both have only released one episode so far, but they both seem very promising.

It is really hard for me to pick a favorite. These last few years hardly anything good has come out, and most of it was pretty forgettable.

Although it would be classier it pick a classic series like cowboy bebop or something I think I'll side with my inner child and say it is a tie between Gurren Lagann (for short series), and One Piece (for on going epic). Both have so much feeling. But not in a tear-boohoo-angst way. More like ADVENTURE AND FRIENDSHIP~ feelings. And I'm totally down with that.

Probably either Code Geass for Gurran Lagann.

But I'll always hold a special place in my heart for Gundam Seed. Sure, I watched DBZ, Pokemon, and Digimon before it, but Seed what the first anime that I actually felt like I was watching an anime, if that makes any sense.
