Breaking Benjamin by far.

Moby is pretty great to listen to...

...

especially when high....

I also thoroughly enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Beatles, Eric Clapton, and even Kanye West. Metallica is great of course too.

Wow, this thread is already going in every direction. So what are my favourite bands?

60s, 70s: Led Zeppelin
80s: Metallica
90s: Soundgarden
00s: Queens of the Stone Age
Wow that is a really great way to set up your favorite bands. Good list too. Now allow me to rip off your 'by the era' format.
60s:The Beatles or Pink Floyd
70s:Rush which shouldn't be a surprise considering my avatar
80s:Metallica for various reasons
90s:Nine Inch Nails or Nirvana
00s:probably The Black Keys
Special mention goes out to AC/DC, Black Sabbath and the many other great bands I'm sure I missed.

The Glitch Mob. They are way too awesome to not be more well-known.

Led Zeppelin Didn't exist until 1968 so im going to go ahead and say The Beatles pretty much have to be the band of the 1960s as much of a cliche as that is. Their impact on everyone cannot be understated.
I don't deny the Beatles were/are a significant part of musical history. That doesn't mean I like them. I did mention that the bands I listed are my favourites, not necessarily the best of those decades. While Zeppelin only showed up at the ass end of the 60s, their first two albums rank amongst my favourites of their work.

Blind Guardian is my favorite, there's other bands I like, but not as much as The Bards.

I don't know why. They are quite different from a lot of what I usually listen to. Their music tends towards the downright chaotic.

However, they only have three songs I don't thoroughly enjoy, two of which are covers of songs that I disliked to begin with.

Foo Fighters and Linkin Park. Although if the new stuff from LP is anything like "Burn It Down" then they won't be there for much longer.
just out of curiosity what did you think of a thousand suns?
I quite liked it, perhaps not their best album (in my opinion Hybrid Theory is) but still quite a good album.

My personal preference would probably be Breaking Benjamin, but honestly, I'll listen to almost anything. I'm mathematically minded so any rhythm appeals to me. :)
