The Xbox 360 is the best controller, IMO. It fits to the hands, and the thumbsticks and triggers feel much better than any other.
The PS3 controller is an improvement on he PS2 design, but the controller still feels too flat, and the L2 and R2 still suck, as do the thumbsticks.
Also, gotta love the mouse. The keyboard is hardly ergonomic, but the MX518 is one hell of a mouse.

My favourite controller has to be the controller S for the xbox.
The 4gamers 3rd party controller S in particular as it has better designed, (less clunky buttons, responsive and confortable joysticks, rubber grip).
But apart from that, the 360 controller, and the N64 controller are good choices too.
My least favourite controller has to be the PS3 Sixaxis, its light, flimbsy, the rear shoulder buttons are uncomfortable to press. It was a huge letdown from the Dualshock 2.
The Playstations D-Pad has always been absolutely horrid! Especially for fighting games that relied on it, (I remember I had a huge blister on my thumb after a long Street Fighter Alpha 3 session)
PSP is just as bad. The D-pad is better, but the spacing is awkward, and the analogue nub is a nightmare. The material is abrasive, and the movement is limited, and not very fluid.
However, those controllers probably weren't designed for my gorilla mits. XD

Lol kidding, never owned that one but i would like to. I like the keyboard and mouse combo, but i have a Logitech Chillstream since fairly recently, its a x360 style controller for the PC, i like it but it still feels awkward compared to a KB/mouse. It cools my sweaty hands though!
Nothing is more near and dear to my heart then the SNES controller. Also the Sega Dreamcast controller always made me smile 
Hmm, gotta say its the Gamecube and N64 controllers for me. I mean at the end of the day the PS controller series have just been slight alterations to the original SNES controller (not entirely surprising), but you can see the family tree if you put the iterations next to each other, I mean the original PS controller almost WAS the SNES controller, just with the wings added on.
Out of this generation I'm gonna go the 360. I dont mind the Wii controller at all, but Im going for something a little more traditional. PS3 is the weakest of the bunch IMO.
