I've had chihuahuas for 17 years, so I'm kind of biased.
I'd have to admit corgis and shiba inus are fucking adorable, though.

And I don't know the difference between cat breeds, so I can't comment on that.
Pitbulls are illegal in the UK because sadly people were using them as attack dogs. Its a shame really because they can be nice dogs just a shame the owners are dickd
Nicest dog I ever knew was a pit bull. All he ever wanted to do was lie down on my feet. There's nothing as tragic and tragically common in the dog world as an abused pit bull. ;___;

I know it's probably not the most popular choice but chihuahuas. Particularly long haired ones. I have two that have both been with us for nearly ten years, and they brought me so much joy.

Of course, I like most dogs in general. Corgis, Labradors, Border Collies, Bulldogs, Huskies, ect.

Dogs are awesome.

When it comes to cats, I kinda like calicos. From what I've read they're technically not a breed, but they're unique in that they're almost exclusively female, as the males are almost all sterile for some reason. I don't know why, but I kinda find that fascinating.

I only trust one dog to chase those pesky badgers

I just love cats, can't really choose just one breed.

As a family we have an English springer spaniel and a black labrador. I love a springer's energy but I have a think for spitz-type breeds. Huskies are awesome and shiba inus and sammies are very cute but I think my ideal dog would be a Eurasier. Not very well known but it's an awesome dog, I would love to have one. There's little in restrictions on coat colour too and I like that there's lots of variations.

Catwise, I don't really mind but Somali cats have awesome tails.

For dogs, I have to go with golden retrievers, seeing as my adorable, sweet-tempered girl Katie is one. Mostly, anyways. She's a retriever/chocolate lab/probably some beagle/Jesus Christ mix. I'd post a picture, but my photobucket account is being arse and I'm lazy besides.

For cats?

They're crossbreeds between the common house cat and the badass African wildcat known as the serval, and first-generation savannahs can grow almost as large as the aforementioned goldens. Besides which fact, unlike normal cats who don't give a fuck about you and your face as long as the food keeps flowing, savannah cats have a dog-like instinct for loyalty and can be trained to follow simple commands.

What I'm basically saying is I want a savannah cat so it and my dog can become a crime-fighting duo.

I don't go for purebreds. All that inbreeding is creepy, and there are lots of shelter animals that need homes.

What next, outlawing black people because statistically they commit more crimes? (yes the FBI does have statistics by race and can back up my statement). Seriously outlawing an entire breed because a few are bad makes about that much sense.

OT: wiener dogs, dachshunds are just the easiest to laugh about and I love mine. It also helps that she generates a lot of body heat which is great on cold nights. Also I love pit bulls, they're the friendliest breed I know of. It's the small dogs that are more aggressive.

For cats, scottish folds are pretty much damn near the cutest things ever.
For dogs, I've always been a fan of huskies, particularly of the pure white variety.

In terms of dogs, I like (to name a few):

Pitbulls, German Shepherds, Akitas, Shiba Inus, Schnauzers, Dachshunds, Mastiffs, Bulldogs, and Jack Russel Terriers.

Not sure about what cat breeds I like, though...

Not really.

Dogs can be specifically bred for certain traits, and Pit Bull Terriers were specifically bred for aggression and ability to fight (hence the name, because they were bred for dog fighting pits). They are statistically likely to be more aggressive because they have at a relatively recent point in history been bred for that trait.

Which means that people get the generally less aggressive but otherwise similar Staffordshire Bull Terrier, or the ordinary English Bull Terrier (the only dog as ugly from the front as it is from the back).

(I quite like Boxers, when it comes to dogs)

Turkish Van. [http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4c/Push_van_cat.jpg] So elegant and beautiful.

I don't know if it counts, but my doggie Cookie [http://i.imgur.com/mtB0boO.jpg] is so cute! She's a mix between a Great Dane and a Airedale Terrier.
