Hey Escapist.

Here is a question for you!

What was your favorite game from the GC/Xbox/PS2 era?

Me owning a GC at the time, my favorite game is Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

Excellent Art style, gameplay (I LIKED the sailing! What?), and Soundtrack.

Like, just LISTEN TO THIS!

Shame I lent my copy to a friend of mine, who moved 6 months later.

How I regret that decision... MUST FIND A USED COPY!!!

But anyway.

EDIT: I still don't know how to embed Youtube clips, and put spoiler tags on things and such. So sue me.

DISCUSS!!!

For me it's resident evil 4 and Super Smash Bros. Melee. I'm about to start my 15th run of RE4 once I finish my exams. I love that game

GC: Probably a tie somewhere between Wind Waker and Super Mario Sunshine.

PS2: Kingdom Hearts. No contest.

I'm going to have to say Psychonauts on the Xbox. That still has to one of my most favorite games ever.
A close second would be Zelda:Wind Waker.

Metroid Prime was my favorite closely followed by Resident Evil 4.
Exactly. Although I've never played RE4, so my second place by not much is Wind Waker.

Timesplitters 2. No video can adequately show how great this game is.

Followed hotly by Metal Gear Solid 3.

Best two games of the last generation for me. Timesplitters 2 is pure fun on a disk, and MGS3 is just something else.

Something amazing.

it would take me a bit of time to think about it, but one of my favourites for the ps2 was burnout 3: takedown. the sheer fun of that game was immense.

Xbox: Phantasy Star Online, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind; more

PS2: Legacy of Kain games, Ratchet & Clank games; more

Gamecube: Resident Evil 4, Zelda Twilight Princess, Animal Crossing; more

There were a lot of games I never got to play, from then and even now. I'm just now getting to play Oblivion, let alone Skyrim (much to my dismay)

oh yeah, hehe:

PC: EverQuest, World of Warcraft, Final Fantasy XI Online

good times...!

Super Mario Sunshine. I just love how deep the platforming is and how fast the levels can be once you start using advanced techniques to create your own routes. But let's go by system:

Xbox: Advent Rising. I love it. I think it'd be an insanely popular franchise if made today. Bad news? It'd give Nolan North more work.

Gamecube: Well... Besisdes Sunshine, Wind Waker. Love it. Can't get enough of it.

Dreamcast: Since it was in this era, I'm going to say Skies of Arcadia. Beautiful RPG.

PS2: God Hand. God Hand. God Hand. God Hand. God Hand. Can you tell I like God Hand yet? Shadow of the Colossus and Jak II are close seconds though.

For the Gamecube, my favorite game was either Viewtiful Joe or the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition disk.

As for the Play Station 2, I loved Soul Calibur II. It was one of the only games I ever played on my PS2. After that, probably the Sly series. I can't pick just one favorite from those games.

For the Xbox... Well, I never owned the original Xbox, so I guess I can't exist as a video game lover.

Xbox:

Timesplitters 2 and 3 (got to love the multiplayer options and the humour on the singleplayer)

Psychonauts, downloaded (I had interest on the game but no way of trying it) the game recently for the PC (a few months ago), loved it and bought for the Xbox 360, one of the best platformers I ever played (gameplay wise not as good as Crash or Spyro but the characters are REALLY awesome).

From that era probably only these two although some other games deserve to be mentioned since they blew me away: Halo CE and Hitman 2, got those games when I first got my Xbox, such an amazing experience, I still have both on my PC.

Personally, Splinter Cell Chaos Theory. Awesome game, the Splinter Cells were a great part of my high school years.

I find the lack of Dreamcast in this topic disturbing...

Something only a Dreamcast owner can understand.

I have a lot of favourites for all four consoles (Yes all four are in my closet even as I type this), mainly because every console last gen had a great range of games, so it's hard to pick out a few, but I really enjoyed, Eternal Darkness, Fable, Sonic Adventure, and Shadow of the Colossus amongst tons of others which i have played.
