Rapture from the game Bioshock would probably be my first pick, but it wouldn't be an easy choice. Realistically I am not sure how well I would actually do under water...it would be a lot better than being in the sky like in Infinite however.

Capitol Wasteland from the game Fallout 3 would be a close pick. I love that setting and combination of both retro mixed with future splashed together with apocalyptic paint.

Silent Hill in the Silent Hill series...atleast the first three games. Always been attracted to the idea of that place. The idea of it changing back and forth from the "Otherworld" and the way it manifests depending on the individuals subconscious and fears. Good place to fight ones own demons, right?

A few others I could name are Half-Lifes world, including Aperture Science from Portal and a part of me would also like to work alongside Sam and Max in New York City.

For the backstory and lore, the Halo Universe.

For the actual location, Halo itself.

There's something so... Awe inspiring about imagining it, silent and empty for countless years. A beautiful, pristine, amazing weapon that, in all honesty, wouldn't be a bad place to live on, as long as someone made sure the keys were under control.

The Nexus is basically the Firelink shrine - only larger and at times far more dangerous (but I won't spoil it past that) and instead of walking out, you teleport to the 5 worlds in Boletaria. But seriously, there isn't much difference between them in purpose.

On the plus side for the Nexus is the collection of individuals who have gathered there, as they really add to the atmosphere and do a good job of positioning the player in the world (a complaint that more than a few had about the obtuse nature of Dark Souls.)

Once you move to each world, you can play all stages, start to finish, without returning to the Nexus if you wish (and is really the best way to go from Pure Black to Pure White World Tendency in one fell swoop). Each world is a large size and is very much in the same "metroidvania" style as Dark Souls. The only difference is that none of the 5 worlds are linked to each other outside of the Nexus. That isn't to say that the worlds are small or that there aren't plenty of "unlockable" shortcuts and secret areas.
Even more excited about this game now. Just fyi, I've only heard about Demons Souls by hearsay through Dark Souls (Which I just beat for the first time so maybe that's why I'm fanboying) so that's why my info is wrong. I like the idea of this a whole lot to be honest, though I think interconnectedness is still a plus. If DeSouls actually has some real characters outside the item descriptions though, holy shit it likely beats Dark Souls by a mile in some respects.

Liberty City in GTA IV. People turned the question which world you fell in love in into what world would you want to live in. But Liberty City is one of those few places in games that feels alive. There's always something going on, a nice number of random events. It doesn't feel empty and it doesn't feel sterile. No world has ever felt so alive to me till then and none since. Some do a rather good impresssion, but behind the veneer there are cracks of the gameness. But even revisiting now, 5 years after the game came out, this place feels more alive than anything. It's not perfect, but it's the best illusion of a world I've seen so far.
