For me, it has to be Bastion. It has:

Great Story
Great Audio
Great Soundtrack
Great Gameplay
Great Graphic
and Great Art Style

The game single handedly ninja'd its way into my top ten

I think this is an indie game, but Deathspank.

It's hilarious and i just like the gameplay.

Bastion is pretty awesome too.

Trine. I only found it last week, but it's brilliant. A modern day Lost Vikings in a fantasy setting.

Honourable mentions go to Amnesia: The Dark Descent for being the best survival horror game since Silent Hill 3, and Braid for its unique gameplay and beautiful music.

I played the Bastion demo and immediately bought it, but I haven't played through it yet.

For sheer replayability im going with Minecraft.

But IMHO Bastion should take the Indie GOTY award this year.

This is a tough one. Lets break it down:

Bastion - Favorite recent one.
Braid - Favorite least understandable story.
Machinarium - Favorite art.
Spacechem - Favorite puzzles.
Aaaaah - Favorite falling game.

Cave Story. A fun little retro throwback to the 'glory days', with an epic story and a lot of attention to detail, despite being pixelated. Plus, the original PC version is freeware, so you can't make any excuses about not having enough money.

Flower always makes me happy. The last 2 levels get a bit preachy (insofar something without voice or text can be preachy), but the first are truly beautiful.

You just said it. Bastion blew me away, I haven't felt that way about a title for a long time, indie or otherwise. It is a beautiful game.

Amnesia: The Dark Descent.

A horror game that manages to be genuinely scary? Sign me up.

Bastion was good too.

Cave Story for sure, it just has that old school hook for me where I couldn't play anything else until I beat it, and for what it is the game is perfect.

Minecraft a close second because it brings something completely new to the gaming scene.

Magicka, completely new dungeon crawler feel, wish they did more on story.

Trine, very cool ideas in this, but the gameplay relied on physics and that is never a good thing, each jump could end up in a thousands of different ways so as soon as it get's slightly more challenging it's all just trial and error.

If your going purly on hours put into an indie game then i'd have to say minecraft, though i hesitate to call it a game, its realy more a creativity toy. As for a favourite its hard to say there are so many great titles ranging from grand to simplistic, picking just one is abit beyond what my mortal frame can do.
