It's a two way tie for me between the pipe organ and harpsichord. But the saxophone could suck a fat one and die.

Oh come on, as bad as it is, how is the saxophone worse than the recorder?

I probably like piano the most. Definitely the most practical instrument I can think of for writing, plus it sounds nice and is very dynamic. I can play piano for hours and never get bored. I'm probably biased because I grew up with it though, so there's the nostalgia factor.

Interestingly enough for me, bagpipes are both. It all depends on how they're used.

I rather enjoy the sound of a Harpsichord. But for me, the accordian needs to be obliterated
And as for my favorite, probably a tie between the Piano and the violin.

The guitar would be my favourite, mainly because I can play it pretty damned well. I don't know what my least favourite instrument is; I've heard some dismal brass bands but that's a whole collective of instruments being out of tune with each other rather than a specific instrument.

Good saxophone is good. But most people don't realize it should be a support instrument in the average high school band setting. Annoying, no doubt.

I love me some good acoustic guitar mixed with the piano. When done correctly the sound is pleasing to the soul.

I hate the clarinet. Good when played well at the lower registers, but I find it horrible at pretty much any other time.

Most favourite instrument is guitar because I am reasonably proficient at it, and I wouldn't have picked it up as a hobby if I already didn't have an interest in it.

Least favourite is the bagpipes. I mentioned in a past thread that when I was very young we lived next to this old guy that used to play the bagpipes at odd hours (I am talking like 4 a.m) which used to piss my dad off as he had to contend with a cranky toddler (me) and having to wake up to go to work at 4 or 5. As a result, my entire family has a distaste for bagpipes.

Cant say I have a particular favorite but if I had to choose it'd be between an electric guitar and a piano.

I played the french horn in school which was pretty cool for me anyway. Had a friend who played the Tenor Sax and was always sitting next to me and good god this guy had talent. Funny that we both quit band after our first year of high school for the same reason.

don't have one that I can think of that I don't like unless you can count one of those party favor "instruments" like the Kazoo or the Vuvuzela.

I'm not going to say bagpipes. You'd think professional pipers would be able to tune the damn things. Although, it is a really cool instrument for lazy people.

My favorite has to be the pipe organ. It is, unequivocally, the king of the instruments.

My least favorite may just be the piccolo. Maybe the alto clarinet.

True. The recorder is quite bad. Especially in the hands of a middle school "band" but the saxophone just kills my eardrums and sets my teeth on edge for some reason. Cant stand it.

Favourite: Percussion
Least: Recorder

I love percussion (when played well) it is the backbone of most music, and recorder sounds like someone shoving an angle grinder down my ear canal

I'd imagine it's great since you can essentially do harmonies and stuff yourself. Playing guitar/bass/whatever on it's own can get dull without a band or backing track, but you can play plenty of full musical pieces using nothing but piano.

Clair de lune is one of my favourite songs, after all.

I really wish I knew how to play piano now...

My least favourite goes to the ukelele, being the most pointless instrument I can think of that actually gets serious use for some reason.

Amanda Palmer needs to cut that shit out already.

Yeah it's very versatile, even if your skills are just average it can still do a lot more than many other instruments.

My girlfriend is going to see Amanda Palmer in a few weeks, I'll tell her to give her a stern talking-to for you. Ukelele is on a big comeback right now actually, probably because of the convenience factor, it's the iPod Shuffle of musical instruments. And we all hate iPod Shuffle, don't we.

Favorite- Cello
Least favorite- Recorder

I don't even see how the recorder can be considered an instrument, all it does is produce a high pitched wail. I could punch any reality show star in the face and most likely get the same noise.

In terms of IPLAYTHISRATHERWELL then my answer is the electric bass guitar, although I have a fondness for upright basses. Also synthesisers, for obvious reasons.

My least favourite is any kind of 6+ string guitar, for obvious reasons.

Guitar, always guitar. Electric Blues Guitar is the greatest music ever.

As for the worst instrument, computers. A computer cannot make music, not matter how much DJs and autotuners and electronica insists. Only instruments can make music, computers just make noise.

Favourite Instrument: Violin

Least Favourite: Auto-Tune because if what it's spawned in today's "music" industry.
