I'm willing to bet this thread's been done sometime before, but for me it would have to be... uh... either Watchmen or Serenity.

Saving Private Ryan, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Gladiator, The Matrix (the other two don't exist),and Starship Troopers

but in the end Star Wars is still just epic

That is a tricky question indeed...

I would have to go with Sympathy for Mr Vengeance. Since I'm a sucker for both Greek tragedies and Asian cinema, it's a pretty good pick.

Second place would probably be Kids Return.

That's a tough question... and probably depends to a large extent on when you ask me. It'd be a tough choice betwen Katsuhiro Otomo's live action adaptation of Mushishi, Akira Kurasawa's Ikiru (in case you couldn't tell I have a fondness for Japanese cinema), and Trick r' Treat.

At the moment it's Repo! The Genetic Opera. That movie was so bad ass.

My all-time favourite is probably Leon though. I also like Hot Fuzz, V for Vendetta, The Matrix, Kick-Ass, Planet Terror, Once Upon a Time in Mexico, Hot Fuzz, Inglourious Basterds, Goodfellas... Ugh I have too many. I can't choose.

The original Star Wars Trilogy. Never has there been or will there be movies that are as good as those immortal classics.

I'll second that. I will be able to watch those movies for the rest of my life and never get tired of them. The newer ones...just no.
